I didn't want 2 make that assessment. But i have heard one too many things he has said that sound or definitely ARE UN-Christian... unorthodox

you probably heard about his remarks about Catholics having big families? He said people shouldn't "breed like rabbits" YIKES! good one... teach Catholics to be against artif birth control, teach them to love life... and THIS is the reward you get!!!!!!!!!!

he discouraged someone interested in becoming Catholic to not do so...! Whoa... he said that the person would be "choosing sides" by becoming Catholic!!!!!!!! Yeh, that is right, we Christians are called to choose sides... by none other than that person the pope does not seem to like, Jesus Christ! Jesus told us to baptize and evangelize

Pope F praised a woman in Italy who once did illegal abortions! This was someone who promoted homosexual "marriage"... and other anti-Christ stuff... !!!!!!!

I am done with Pope F

this information came from The Wanderer newspaper, the best source of news i have found yet..

That took a lot of courage for an avid Catholic like yourself to admit. The truth, like God, is not a respecter of persons.

um... thanks but... i dont feel it took courage at all... I have always loved truth. That is why i am Catholic. That is why i STAY Catholic despite all the evil things Catholics have done and continue to do to me... (many of them are uncharitable..) but that is them, the Church is something altogether different... (the divine aspect thereof)

no, it took no courage at all. What takes courage is actually loving people the way Jesus wants... yes, that takes courage... and i can't say i have much courage (or success) w/ that one...

:(

It took no courage to say that b/c it takes no courage to say what is the truth... well, no, that's nt true... sometimes it does... I mean, if you say something against certain powerful people... you could end up being... on a "list"

Hillary has an enemy list... I am probably on it... :)

we are to accept what is proclaimed ex cathedra

meaning from the Chair (of Peter)

he hasn't, that i know of, spoutated away on anything that is against the dogmas of the Church... not said anything ex cathedra (a rare event) so... he is not formally a heretic

With my perspective on the seven church congregations...

Messianic - They did not have much to do with the gentiles. Paul chastised Peter over this
Martyr - There were ten Roman persecutions that would arise against the church...
Orthodox - A pergos is a tower, needed in the dark ages
Catholic- The Spirit of Jezebel is controlling. You would not have wanted to speak out against this congregation in its time!
Protestant - Name that they lived... Sometimes just as bad as the Catholics before them.
Revived - The Great awakening.
Materialistic - Began with DL Moody, the first to get rich off of ministry

The Pope is the leader of the Catholic church. To those Catholic he is their leader. As for me my head is Christ...

1 Corinthians 11:3
But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God.

In 1302 Pope Boniface said this in a letter (Unum Sanctum) to the Catholic Church:
"Furthermore, we declare, we proclaim, we define that it is absolutely necessary for salvation that every human creature be subject to the Roman Pontiff".

Much more recently, Popes have reiterated their designs and goals for the church, global rule. An example of this was on July 7, 2009, when the Pope made a speech calling for a “God-centered” global economy. Was he speaking of our true God? Or was he speaking of himself? In this most recent encyclical, the Pope calls for a reform of the UN that will establish a “true world political authority” with “real teeth” to manage the global economy with God-centered ethics. We should ask ourselves who this true world political authority is going to be. From ethics and human rights to the financial crisis to political authority, it seems the head of the Roman Church has a solution for the world. This solution appears to be a global religio/politico government with the Pope as the head. Recent ecumenical gatherings seems to indicate that regardless of religion, one can retain your unique religion and character, so long as Boniface's edict is upheld...submit to papal authority.

This entire mindset of the papacy...which if one reads history aright, is typical of Rome's attitude throughout the last 1500 years, is the real heresy. Not just of one individual pope, but of the system itself.

Matthew 20:20 ¶ Then came to him the mother of Zebedee’s children with her sons, worshipping him, and desiring a certain thing of him.
21 And he said unto her, What wilt thou? She saith unto him, Grant that these my two sons may sit, the one on thy right hand, and the other on the left, in thy kingdom.
22 But Jesus answered and said, Ye know not what ye ask. Are ye able to drink of the cup that I shall drink of, and to be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with? They say unto him, We are able.
23 And he saith unto them, Ye shall drink indeed of my cup, and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with: but to sit on my right hand, and on my left, is not mine to give, but it shall be given to them for whom it is prepared of my Father.
24 And when the ten heard it, they were moved with indignation against the two brethren.
25 But Jesus called them unto him, and said, Ye know that the princes of the Gentiles exercise dominion over them, and they that are great exercise authority upon them.
26 But it shall not be so among you: but whosoever will be great among you, let him be your minister;

27 And whosoever will be chief among you, let him be your servant:
28 Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.

Post # 7 is confusing, have no idea why i worded things as i did.. but what i meant to say is that

if the pope is just rambling away as we clueless knuckleheaded humans tend to do... and does not mean to teach or proclaim anything from The Chair of Peter (as official dogma)

aka "ex cathedra"

we do not have to pay any attention to it.

But it is hard to ignore things he has said that are CLEARLY against Christ and His Laws...

I sometimes wonder if the pope is a closet mason (is there any other kind?)

Global rule? The pope wants global rule for Jesus Christ?

Well, of course he does... (not sure about the current pope but the one u quote is right on)

That is not heretical. Jesus said

"He who hears you (Apostles/bishops) hears Me"--told us to evanagelize the world

Global rule for Jesus Christ? Where did I mention that? No, my friend, Rome does not seek global rule for the sake of Jesus Christ, He is well able to accomplish that without help from any man. Read Daniel 2. The Rock that destroys that statue is Christ...not the RCC.

You reveal your shallow understanding of spiritual matters. Not your fault of course, because of your church taught the real meaty and deep issues of scripture, half of Catholics world-wide would become Protestant.
Jesus did not come to establish an earthly kingdom...My kingdom is not of this world, He told Pilate. The church's work is not to establish a worldly kingdom either. It is to introduce people into God's kingdom, which is spiritual in nature and is to have absolutely nothing to do with building a temporal hierarchical structure on earth. "Render to Caesar the things which are Caesar's, and to God the things which are God's". While the Popes are busily "committing fornication with the kings of the earth" in order to establish their world empire, the true everlasting gospel of Revelation 14:6-12 is being taught world-wide and drawing people to Jesus....He is coming soon to take His children home where they belong. While the pope proclaims himself as king of kings and lord of lords, the true King of Kings will soon have him in derision, and destroy his paltry attempt to usurp God's crown and government.
The time is coming when the pope will, for a short time, have his moment of glory when enthroned at the head of the NWO. Then, when the RCC legislates global religious canon law and enforces the same upon all the world, believers world-wide, under intense persecution reminiscent of the dark ages of medieval inquisitions reborn, will have to choose between the dictates and religious dogmas and commandments of man, or the commandments of God.
Revelation 14:12 describes the final remnant people of God at this time....here are they that keep the commandments of God, and have the faith of Jesus. One cannot keep God's commandments and remain faithful and submissive to Rome at the same time. That is why God says in Revelation 18...
1 ¶ And after these things I saw another angel come down from heaven, having great power; and the earth was lightened with his glory.
2 And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird.
3 For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies.
4 And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.
5 For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities.

This to me is heresy...the god of the Qur'an is not the God of the Bible...

The Church regards with esteem also the Muslims. They adore the one God, living and subsisting in himself; merciful and all-powerful, the Creator of heaven and earth, who has spoken to men; they take pains to submit wholeheartedly to even his inscrutable decrees, just as Abraham, with whom the faith of Islam takes pleasure in linking itself, submitted to God.

(Nostra Aetate 3)

Let’s start with the obvious: Christians believe Jesus is God, but the Quran is so opposed to this belief that it condemns Jesus worshipers to Hell (5.72). For Christians, Jesus is certainly God, and for Muslims Jesus is certainly not God. How can it be said that Christians and Muslims worship the same God? This fact alone is enough to settle the matter, but at the very least, no one should argue as Volf has that “there isn’t any theological justification” for believing Christians and Muslims worship different Gods. There certainly is, and it is the obvious position when we consider the person of Jesus.
Another difference between the Islamic God and the Christian God that is quite personal to me is his Fatherhood. According to Jesus, God is our Father, yet the Quran very specifically denies that Allah is a father (112.1-4). In fact, in 5.18, the Quran tells Muslims to rebuke Jews and Christians for calling God their loving Father because humans are just things that God has created.
The same is the case when we consider the doctrine of the Trinity. Islam roundly condemns worship of the Trinity (5.73), establishing in contrast its own core principle: Tawhid, the absolute oneness of God. Tawhid specifically denies the Trinity, so much so that it is safe to say the doctrine of God in Christianity is antithetical to the doctrine of God in Islam. Not just different but completely opposed to one another.
There is much more to be said about the differences between the Christian God and the Muslim God, but this much can already be said with confidence: the Christian God, both in terms of what he is (Triune) and who he is (Father, Son, and Spirit) is not just different from the Muslim God; He is fundamentally incompatible. According to Islam, worshiping the Christian God is not just wrong; it sends you to Hell. They are not the same God.

This is from Nabeel Qureshi, former Muslim now Christian

The true gospel was brought to us through the power of the Holy Spirit, not by church enactments or secular legislation...as also were the fundamental truths of scripture. Those doctrines that were spurious, heretical, and support for which could not be found in scripture, were enforced by legislative decree and the threat of temporal punishment and eternal condemnation. Such was the habit and practice of the church of Rome and her worldly supporters, the emperors and kings of this world. The trinity was one such spurious doctrine enforced upon the people by the sword.
THE CODE OF OUR LORD
THE MOST SACRED EMPEROR JUSTINIAN.
SECOND EDITION.

BOOK 1.

TITLE 1.
CONCERNING THE MOST EXALTED TRINITY AND THE
CATHOLIC FAITH AND PROVIDING THAT NO ONE
SHALL DARE TO PUBLICLY OPPOSE THEM
.
1. The Emperors Gratian, Valentinian, and Theodosius to the people of the City of Constantinople.
We desire that all peoples subject to Our benign Empire shall live under the same religion that the Divine Peter, the Apostle, gave to the Romans, and which the said religion declares was introduced by himself, and which it is well known that the Pontiff Damascus, and Peter, Bishop of Alexandria, a man of apostolic sanctity, embraced; that is to say, in accordance with the rules of apostolic discipline and the evangelical doctrine, we should believe that the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit constitute a single Deity, endowed with equal majesty, and united in the Holy Trinity.
(1) We order all those who follow this law to assume the name of Catholic Christians, and considering others as demented and insane, We order that they shall bear the infamy of heresy; and when the Divine vengeance which they merit has been appeased, they shall afterwards be punished in accordance with Our resentment, which we have acquired from the judgment of Heaven.
Dated at Thessalonica, on the third of the Kalends of March, during the Consulate of Gratian, Consul for the fifth time, and Theodosius

The Nicean creed and its subsequent support from the secular authorities is the only reason the trinity became the almost universally accepted doctrine it is today. It is a fundamental doctrine of the Catholic church upon which she herself claims all other doctrines are built. I believe it to be a doctrine of the Babylonian/papal apostasy from which Protestants have yet to fully extricate themselves from.
The trinity had as its patron two neophyte emperors who enforced it upon dissenters under threat of banishment, death and condemnation. IT WAS A STATE IMPOSED DOCTRINE IN COLLUSION WITH PROFESSED CHURCHMEN. THE ACT OF ITS ENFORCEMENT AT NICEA GAVE BIRTH TO THE PAPACY. THE PAPACY IS THEREFORE DERIVED FROM THE TRINITY, ONE INSEPARABLE SUBSTANCE.
Its rise to prominence in the Pergamos period was synonymous with the apostasy of that period. The Trinity was the central point of controversy & when the dust had settled, the Trinitarians who comprised the Roman Papal church triumphed, while those opposed to the Trinity went into the wilderness. The Trinity was therefore directly responsible for the greatest apostasy of the Christian era which marked the falling away from the Smyrnian period of spiritual prosperity which preceded it.
The Trinity which initiated the great apostasy was also the prime factor directly responsible for the eventual Papal domination in 538 A.D. This was accomplished when it successfully overthrew the last bastion of resistance to the doctrine in the form of the three so-called barbarian kingdoms. THESE “BARBARIANS” WERE CONVERTED, SABBATH-KEEPING CHRISTIANS WHO REJECTED THE TRINITY, YET WERE NOT ARIANS. The Papal antichrist church would never have attained the supremacy without the Trinity. 1260 YEARS OF PAPAL SUPREMACY & ALL THAT IT REPRESENTS FROM HERESY TO INQUISITION MUST BE LAID SQUARELY AT THE FEET OF THE TRINITY.
