The promises to Israel; are they for the people who are Israel according to the law?
Galatians 3:16
Now to Abraham and his Seed were the promises made. He does not say, “And to seeds,” as of many, but as of one, “And to your Seed,” who is Christ.[sup]17[/sup] And this I say, that the law, which was four hundred and thirty years later, cannot annul the covenant that was confirmed before by God in Christ,[sup][j][/sup] that it should make the promise of no effect. [sup]18[/sup] For if the inheritance is of the law, it is no longer of promise; but God gave it to Abraham by promise.
Romans 4
[sup]13[/sup] For the promise that he would be the heir of the world was not to Abraham or to his seed through the law, but through the righteousness of faith. [sup]14[/sup] For if those who are of the law are heirs, faith is made void and the promise made of no effect, [sup]15[/sup] because the law brings about wrath; for where there is no law there is no transgression.
[sup]16[/sup] Therefore it is of faith that it might be according to grace, so that the promise might be sure to all the seed, not only to those who are of the law, but also to those who are of the faith of Abraham, who is the father of us all [sup]17[/sup] (as it is written, “I have made you a father of many nations”[sup][d][/sup])
All who would enter by faith have access to the promises of Israel, because they are grafted into Israel, which means 'rules with God', and as it says in Revelation, he who overcomes, I will give him to rule and reign with me.
Israel is God's people according to the Spirit then, as it's promises are to all those who enter the covenant by faith. We were grafted in to Christ, and made partakers of the holy nation, the kingdom of priests. God has a purpose for the Jews, but it is only to make them once again part of what they have been cut off of, and what we have been grafted into, Israel according to the promise.
