Below is the Basilica of Our Lady of Peace, in the capital of Cote de Ivoire, Africa.

The Basilica of Our Lady of Peace, also known as Basilique Notre-Dame de la Paix de Yamoussoukro, is a Roman Catholic basilica located in Yamoussoukro, the political capital of Côte d’Ivoire. It was commissioned by the country’s first President, Félix Houphouët-Boigny, and consecrated by Pope John Paul II in 19901.
Here are some interesting facts about the Basilica of Our Lady of Peace:

• Architecture: The basilica features a 158-meter-high dome and can accommodate 18,000 worshippers inside and 300,000 on the exterior esplanade. Built with marble, it measures 195 meters in length and 150 meters in width. Alongside St. Peter’s Basilica in Vatican City, the Basilica of Our Lady Aparecida in Brazil, and the Mosque-Cathedral of Córdoba in Spain, it ranks among the largest churches in the world2.
• History: Former Ivorian President Félix Houphouët-Boigny personally funded the nearly $300 million construction cost between 1986 and 1989. Initially, the Vatican hesitated due to the ostentatious nature of the project, but local bishops’ pressure led to its acceptance with conditions: the construction of a hospital for the poor adjacent to the basilica and the establishment of a Catholic University. Pope John Paul II consecrated it on September 10, 1990. The basilica is owned by the Holy See and currently administered by Polish Pallottine priests2.

To take nothing away from ST. Peter's Basilica in Rome...it's the most beautiful....
Padova is more interesting and different.

Garni Temple, located in Armenia.

An ancient pagan temple. Built in the 1st century; dedicated to worship Mithra, the sun god, an idol. Demonic.

A beautiful affront to the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.

The “Eye of God” in the dome of St. James Catholic Church, Louisville, KY. (I attended a wedding there a few years ago. The Catholics didn’t appear to pay any attention to it; I did. I’ve not forgotten the ceiling with its eye but I don’t recall the names of the people who got married that day.)

Although I don't usually like more modern architecture, this church is interesting. It's St Basil's and down the main boulevard from my neighborhood. Inside you can see the slender stained glass windows more.
