Jesus said to the Father, Thy word is truth (John 17:17).
That's good enough for me, to know that the Bible is the word of God and that it is the truth of God.
It is not idolatry to hold the truth of God's word as God proclaims it to be...the truth!
He has magnified His word above all His name.
That is the bottom line.
One mark of spiritual perversion is dishonest posters who lie openly on Christian forums. They do not hesitate to lie, misrepresent facts, twist peoples words to try and elevate themselves and their defective views above Gods word and His people.
Jude described such persons well:
3 Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.

For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.
11 Woe unto them! for they have gone in the way of Cain, and ran greedily after the error of Balaam for reward, and perished in the gainsaying of Core.
12 These are spots in your feasts of charity, when they feast with you, feeding themselves without fear: clouds they are without water, carried about of winds; trees whose fruit withereth, without fruit, twice dead, plucked up by the roots;
13 Raging waves of the sea, foaming out their own shame; wandering stars, to whom is reserved the blackness of darkness for ever.
The words used convey the idea are hidden wreaths lying under the surface until they cause damage to ships passing by;
12 These are in your love-feasts craggy rocks; feasting together with you, without fear shepherding themselves; clouds without water, by winds carried about; trees autumnal, without fruit, twice dead, rooted up;
13 wild waves of a sea, foaming out their own shames; stars going astray, to whom the gloom of the darkness to the age hath been kept.
You see such trolls who come in among sheep and try and accuse those who love God and His word. They try and put a wedge between God and His word!
It is no surprise that they try and divide God and His people.
On this thread the scripture is spoken of as the greatest gift to mankind.
The word superior is substituted by evil-minded, jealous posters, who want to attack professing Christians suggesting that God is not the object of their worship???
Scripture is called a "dead letter"???
Heb.4:12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
It is no surprise to see such ungodly wanderers going from site to site, as stalker trolls....no interest in truth...just trying to undermine the good works of others.
Gospel light dispels such darkness. Scripture shines through as God speaks to us, His voice being heard in and through the scriptures as the Spirit freely gives us all things that God has for us.
1cor2:
9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.
10 But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.
11 For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? e
ven so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.
12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world,
but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.
13 Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.
14
But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
A clear contrast of believers and those void of the Spirit. We are warned here and in Jude to withstand such wicked attacks, and stand in faith as these foul attacks come.
