Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ. - Galatians 3:16.
What is in a seed? The life of all that seed is. Once you put a seed in the soil it comes alive, it brings forth fruit. Depending on what kind of seed it will bring fruit after It's kind. So you find the nature in the seed, you know what that means? The seed in you is who you are, when you bring forth fruit-life it will come from the seed. I promise you did not do one thing to bring forth your first life. All you did was live, you did not have any effort in bringing forth your life it was just spontaneous and so should your new life be just as spontaneous with mind renewal. What causes a Christian to struggle at times? Absultely the mind. We struggle with each other and declare over other believers what is wrong with them spiritually. It does seem so simple to look at some believers and say they probably were not saved to begin with! That is bad judgement.
You know how others know your a Christian? They see the fruit in the seed, life comes out of the seed and in the seed is everything a believer would ever look for in the written word of God. So why does the scriptures say "whosoever you yield your members to you are a slave to." You are going to be a slave to your old way of thinking and doing things or you will be a slave to Christ. Do you know why people give themselves to all kinds of things? Because they were made by God to be given to something, created to be dominated, over ruled by another even Christ for believers. Have you ever had a time when it didn't matter what you did you could not put a good foot forward. Everything you did went south, we are challenged by God to live and express Christ in every situation in life. Believers are to live Christ moment by moment, day by day, year by year. The challenge is to not live by the old mind but give Christ a mind to live and express himself as you. Simple enough! No not really because your mind usally will struggle with that idea because it had such a hard time with it's old life it will not surrender to a new life that easy.
Freedom comes only in mind because the cross set you free but it is you knowing it that sets you free. I know numerous folks that have Christ in them and are so bound by their flesh they look like the world. So in religion as long as you go to their meetings and abide by their rules do you qualify to be one of them. Whatever kind of them they are, you can be one of them. That is what Paul called "entangled again with the yoke of bondage." Bondage is you doing the same thing you have always done to try to please God. Living a life of either trying to suppress your new nature or living like you still have an old life nature. The only thing required in Christian living is to live by the life in you, Christ, and that is what the father would like. You could save the world and feed and clothe the world and still not be what your father would like you to be. This life is not made up of doing, this life is made up of living by the life of another, Christ in you the hope of glory. Bless you.
