And you aren't sounding much like a born again Christian. More like a Christian Zionist. They have no problem selling their inheritance to the jews.

I don't see that being poor in spirit, meek, persecuted, etc. only applies to Jews. Nor do I see how the kingdom of heaven can refer to the kingdom of David on earth. Earth is not heaven.

Hello Doug, where is that particular teaching (in bold above) found in the OT :IDK: Thanks!

God bless you!!

--Papa Smurf
p.s. - While I'm not sure about such a teaching in the OT, the NT clearly has it, both in the Gospels and in the Epistles, as well, yes! For instance,

Ephesians
32 Be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven you.
Colossians 3
13 Bear with one another and forgive any complaint you may have against someone else. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.
.

Notice the difference, though. Ephesians and Colossians both tell us to forgive others because God has forgiven us. In Jesus' instruction, taught to Israel being under the Law, they were to forgive so that God would forgive them.

Under the Law, acceptance was based on the person's obedience. In Christ, acceptance is based on His obedience.

Much love!

Hello again Doug, are not Gentile believers also referred to as the light of the world :IDK:For instance,

Ephesians 5
8 You were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light,
9 for the fruit of the light consists in all goodness, righteousness, and truth.
1 Thessalonians 5
You are all children of the light and children of the day. We do not belong to the night or to the darkness.

Thanks!

God bless you!!

--Papa Smurf

Philippians 2
14 Do all things without grumbling or disputing,
15 so that you will be blameless and innocent, children of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world.

Hello Brother, I agree with you, however, my two replies to Doug were principally concerned with the notion that the Sermon on the Mount was/is meant for (physical) Israel alone.

God bless you!!

The kingdom of heaven is the prophetic Davidic kingdom on earth promised to believing Israel
Paul mentions the Kingdom of God 11 times in his letters: 4 times in 1 Corinthians, and 1 each in Romans, Galatians, Ephesians, Colossians, 1 and 2 Thessalonians, and 2 Timothy. These letters are written to the gentile Churches. I therefore have to reject this Dispensational founding principle that the Kingdom of God is only for believing Israel.
