The law is spiritual, Romans 7:14. It searches the desires and the intent of the heart, Hebrews 4:12. Jesus spiritualized the law when he said, "But I say unto you, that whosoever that looks at a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her already in his heart" Matthew 5:28.

This means that most men are guilty of adultery. To obey the spiritual law all of your thoughts would have to pure and without sin. What about Coveting? If you covet you have violated the spiritual law. If you get mad at someone without a cause you have violated the spiritual law. If you curse under your breath, you have violated the spiritual law.

I suspect that this is why Paul said, "There is none righteous, no, not one" Romans 3:10. "For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God" Romans 3:23.

It only takes one sin to make one a sinner. Adam and Eve only failed one time and were banished from the Garden of Eden.

The first step to becoming a Christian is to accept the fact that you are a sinner that needs a savior.
