The Temple of God

What words are used to describe the flesh of fallen man?

Vile
disobedient
covetous
blasphemous
Against God...wicked?

Then how can wickedness(flesh of fallen man) be "the temple of God"?

Can God dwell in something vile, disobedient, covetous, against God...?

Proverbs 30:20 KJV
[20] Such is the way of an adulterous woman; she eateth, and wipeth her mouth, and saith, I have done no wickedness.

How is it possible for our body to be the temple of God?

How is our body the temple of God when scripture repeatedly says, once a person is born again: sin of the flesh is dead.

Is the flesh (that is dead) the temple or is it "the Spiritual BODY" we are told to keep set apart for God?

How can God indwell our body as the temple...unless that "old" flesh IS truly dead to sin?

Can man's efforts keep "the body" "the temple of God" clean and pure and Holy enough for the Spirit of God to dwell there in?


Mortify your members(body): which body are we to mortify...flesh that is dead to sin?

1 Corinthians 3:16-18 KJV

[17] If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are. [18] Let no man deceive himself. What is "the unclean thing"?

now the outward man. Romans 7:18 "For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not". not my will but your will. now if we let, let me say this again, if we LET God live in us then the flesh is dead, spiritually speaking. for when I was alive, yes my flesh is as you stated. but now I'm dead to it those words don't apply anymore. now your answer, read Romans chapter 6 which tells us how to overcome sin, and chapter 7 & 8 tells us how to win while living in this body of sin.

The Temple of God is the HOLY PLACE where the HOLY SPIRIT abides.

The HOLY SPIRIT abides many HOLY PLACES.

The Heavens, some of its hosts;
The Earth, some of its hosts;
The Worlds, some of its hosts;

Have become CORRUPTED, and VOID of the HOLY SPIRIT so abiding.

Yet, some of the heavenly hosts maintained their Holiness, and remained holy, and the HOLY SPIRIT abides in them.

And some of the earthly hosts have become restored and quickened to holy, and the HOLY SPIRIT abides in them.

The "temple of God" Apostle Paul mentioned in 2 Thessalonians 2:4 about the false one coming to sit in, is NOT... about the spritual temple idea Paul taught in Ephesians 2. To say it is, is confusion, because the Ephesians spiritual temple cannot be corrupted by any man nor any thing.

The "temple of God" Paul mentioned in 2 Thess.2 is about another Jewish temple built at the very end of this world for the coming Antichrist ("man of sin") to sit in and proclaim himself as God, and over all that is called God, or that is worshiped (2 Thess.2:3-4). Paul said that revealing of that "man of sin" and the great apostasy (falling away) must occur first, prior to Christ's second coming and gathering of His elect Church (2 Thess.2:1-4).

Work has been in progress for years and continues, to determine precisely where the destroyed Temple actually was situated.

New discoveries of aqua ducts, the "wailing" wall being a likely wall of an outer court of the destroyed Temple, is leading some to believe, the Dome does not actually sit on spot of the destroyed Temple, and thus such a NEW Temple could be rebuilt on the original site of the destroyed Temple, without consideration of the Dome.

Even those that are convinced of where to build, and anxious to build....not all Jews agree, with the spot, or with promoting rebuilding of the Temple.

This obviously is a Jewish dilemma, and Christians looking on, already know, the Jewish Messiah has come, and is building His Temple, without hands, brick, mortar, but rather is building His Chruch within the Hearts of men.

ByGrace: I'm with you. The theory of a Neo-Pharisaic (Jew) Temple being built to please God is folly. He showed his displeasure already at Christ's death on the cross and by 70 AD by the Roman soldiers.

My thinking is that the location may not be determined until the false messiah arrives to make the "league" of Dan.11 and along with it begin the old sacrifices again. I think false messiah's arrival will cause all the pieces to come together.

Laboring to build a new Temple, may as well be effected by taking a dozer and pushing a mound of dirt and rock together, as that shall be all it will be when it is destroyed, after the false prophet is seated. Just saying.
