Good Gracious God, thank you.
You have given me and shown me all things,
unwilling and unable as I was you plucked me out
of my own vomit, cleaned me and cared for me.
Goodness gracious, thank you.
Good God,
be with me, hold my hand and guide my feet,
that I never stray from your ways.
I love the Lord with all my heart and all my might,
his word, his ways, his laws, his being and all
the things of the Lord.
Thanks and praise our Lord God in heaven,
you are amazing and wonderful, kind and gentle,
a sweet heart.
Good Gracious God, thank you, in Jesus Christ name,
father, son and holy spirit. Amen.
God gave us freedom and choice; without it there can be no life. It is fundamental to life, without it there can only be an animal (or a robot), and not the true life that God create. But with freedom and choice comes sin
and evil, but God as the creator of life and the world he created for that life, had a plan for this from before the foundation of the world. This was an absolutely essential part of creation.
There were two special trees in the garden of Eden, the tree of the knowledge of good and evil and the tree of life. Adam and Eve had only one commandment, only one law, only one thing that was forbidden, which was to eat from
the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. But God knows his creation and Adam and Eve did the one thing they were forbidden in the wonderful and perfect garden. Once that happened, God said, if they also eat from the tree of life,
"they will become like us".
Now, the rest of it is well known, including the tree of life, but those who do not understand, in their folly want to blame God for putting the tree of the knowledge of good and evil in the garden in the first place, without
crediting him for also putting the tree of life there. In essence, these people blame God for their own sins and for Adam and Eve doing the one thing they were forbidden. So great is their folly, what they are actually saying is;
it would be better if God did not create life in the first place. But the whole purpose was to create life, true life. This life is placed even above that of angels. And for this purpose, both trees are necessary.
Clearly sin and evil played a major role since the time of Adam and Eve and was the central theme even of ancient Israel, where history repeats itself. But God is also a God of promises, but the tree of life had not yet been revealed,
and the plans of God not yet been fulfilled. But through Israel they would be.
Abraham is the father of faith and one chosen by God, and honoured by God as such, by his promises, which have been fulfilled. Christianity and Judaism even go under the name of "Abrahamic religions". He is known as the
"father of the nation of Israel" ahead of Isaac, Jacob, Moses, Joshua, and alongside but before David. The ancient people of Juda and Israel alone were spread across all the world at several occasions and fathered many generations,
even as exiles, even well known in the Roman empire and even until the return of some to modern Israel.
The history of Israel and Egypt are connected, and Egypt was blessed above the natural blessings and purpose of any other nation than Israel, and this is clearly evident in ancient history. The time of Abraham coincides
with the first peaking of the Kingdom of Egypt, through to that of Joseph, in a time which the descendants of Abraham had their history centered in Egypt. The descendants of Abraham not only inherited the promised land,
but spread across many regions of the middle east, which also includes the people now known as muslims.
This is not even considering if "his seed" are those of faith, rather than his physical descendants, but by all accounts the promises God made to Abraham were without any doubt fulfilled. His seed are countless as the stars and all
across the world.
Consider the history of the forefathers of Israel and how they were made into a peculiar people, set aside from other people, as their own people.
The sins and evil of the world was even far beyond what God in his goodness could imagine they would ever do. The world was evil and vile, because that's how people are in their sins, and the ones who inhabited the promised land
were even the worst among them. But God had chosen a people with special favour from God and they were to replace the people of that land and found the nation of Israel under the laws and ways of God, by his guidance. Immediately they
fell away and into sin and evil, even before reaching the promised land, and clearly as had been said from the beginning, they were a stiff necked and hard hearted people. The history of Israel is one of disobedience and continual
decline into worse and worse evil and sin, with the exception of the period where the nation was strengthened under the stewardship of King David, the only highpoint.
From the very first moment they reached the promised land, they failed to obey God, and the people they failed to replace became a trap to them, leading them into even worse ways, as with King Salomon. Half the old testament is the
story of how Israel falls away from God and into sin and evil, and the prophets point out just how bad it is. This is the history of Israel, and it tells the story of how they disobey God for a thousand years of worse and worse sin
and evil. But God knew from the foundation of the world, and despite the judgement of Israel, a remnant was left in Israel for the purpose of the fulfillment, until the final destruction of Israel after their purpose had been accomplished.
