I haven’t read it. What is your experience in The Ultimate Treasure Hunt?
I just finished reading it and passed it off to my wife.
The intention is for us to do it together and possibly do it with a group at church.
I went out on one evening with a church group many years ago.
I liked it and wanted to do it again. That group never went out again.
Not sure why. Anyway...
The main idea is to create a "treasure map" and then go find the treasure.
Begin with prayer. Ask God to reveal clues to you find the treasure.
Then answer these questions. Write down the first thing that comes to mind.
- Location
- Person's name
- Person's appearance
- What they might need prayer for
- The unusual
Armed with this info, head to the location.
Bring the Treasure Map with you. You can show it to the person you meet there.
For example: Your Treasure Map says someone with a blue team T-shirt named Tom with a twisted knee and scissors in hand.
You find this person and ask them if their name is Tom. If it is, you certainly will have their attention.
Show them the map while you explain what you are up to. Ask if you can pray for the injured knee.
If the person's name isn't Tom, still offer to pray. They met all the other criteria.
Your treasure could be a combination of several people. Go find Tom. - LOL
Basically you need to just roll with whatever happens. Such was my experience.
I went through our location and came up empty handed. But on our way out the door,
the cashier asked me if we found what we were looking for. This struck me as very funny.
So, I laughed and explained what we were doing. Then I turned to go.
As soon as I put my hands on the door to leave God spoke to me. "Go back and pray with that woman."
So I went back and said I could pray for her as long as I was there. She thought about a prayer request.
She had a relative that was struggling, so I prayed for that and then left.
So, God made something out of my bungled effort. - LOL
Hoping to get better with practice. I wanted to get my wife involved.
I think her mapping skills will be better than mine.
I'm pretty good at talking to strangers. Not her gift. - LOL
