In line with the original post, it's common for some believers to assume they’ve grasped the meat of the Word, when in reality, they haven’t even understood the milk. This highlights just how important it is to “prove all things” and be ready to give a reason for the hope that lies within us to anyone who asks.

Newbies, if you have any doubt that the devil is a malevolent being know this - he is speaking to you in this thread.

@Hiddenthings has told you and his other readers things about Satan and myself which aren’t true.
I am not a follower of Hiddenthings Matthias and I honestly havent heard anything about you personally. There are a few posters that have different views on Satan not being the devil (or whatever their beef is) but strange views are pretty much the norm of the internet of things. Even if someone was said about you or Satan (for that matter) I am not one to believe everything I hear/or read online anyways.

So no worries

What’s remarkable about this claim is that nowhere in the Bible is such a being clearly defined. It’s a fabrication of Matthias’s own thinking, ideas that are, at best, unbiblical.

What the devil has to say about me personally isn’t very important to me. It comes as no surprise. The lengths he will go to in order to keep gentiles (and Jews) from hearing the Messiah teach and preach the gospel of the kingdom - the seed of immortality - to mankind is.

The devil knows that all disciples of the Messiah are dangerous men and women, for they are like their teacher (Luke 6:40).

In most cases, the term "devil" refers to someone who falsely accuses another, it can be any person! When Christ said, "One of you is a devil," He was identifying someone as a false accuser. In that instance, it was Judas, a real person, not some imagined embodiment of evil as Matthias believes.

The delusion surrounding this subject can run so deep that a person may become aggressive in trying to defend the existence of this being.

Earlier in this thread, Matthias tried to shut down the discussion on this subject, yet now he won’t let it go.

I'm happy to help educate others on this subject, because the real battle isn’t against human inventions and unbiblical notions! it’s real, and it requires the full armor of God to overcome.

@Truly

The first key truth in studying this subject, and one that many Christians on this forum recognize is this: you can have a good or bad Satan, but never a good devil.

Since Satan simply means "adversary," the term is used in a variety of contexts, both positive and negative. In contrast, the word devil is always used negatively, it refers specifically to a false accuser, and by definition, it's not possible to have a “good” false accuser.

Testing this knowledge is the first step to discovering the truth about these words and their use in Scripture.

Christadelphian indoctrination isn’t the purpose, nor the topic, of this thread.

Don’t be distracted by the devil as he does that thing he does, newbies. Look instead at the gospel of the kingdom and see it being used in evangelism, to make disciples, by the Messiah and all of his apostles.

That’s false, and other “Christian” members will provide it. I’ve started a thread for you on the subject in the Christian Apologetics forum.

Tongue in cheek, get the hell out of my thread on the gospel.

This OP isn’t about the Gospel, Matthias, because you believe in a false god you can’t even prove. How can you set yourself up as a teacher of babes when you yourself are still in need of Bible basics (pun included!)?

“But as soon as they believed Philip’s preaching of the kingdom of God and of the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women.”

(Acts 8:12, NMB)

This is what the carrying out of the great commission looks like in the New Testament. Do we see this echoed in Paul? Yes. Both to Jews and to gentiles.

Paul and Silas imprisoned.

”The crowd rose up together against them, and the chief magistrates tore their robes off them and proceeded to order them to be beaten with rods. When they had struck them with many blows, they threw them into prison, commanding the jailer to guard them securely, and he, having received such a command, threw them into the inner prison and fastened their feet in the stocks.”

(Acts 16:22-25, NASB)

An earthquake occurred around midnight which shook the prison, opened the doors and and unfastened the chains of all of the prisoners. The jailer was awakened and, thinking the prisoners had escaped, was preparing to commit suicide. Paul intervened, telling the jailer that all of the prisoners were still in the prison. The jailer called for lights and confirmed that the prisoners were in fact still there.

The relieved jailer brought Paul and Silas out of the prison and said,

”Sirs, what must I do to be saved?”

(Acts 16:30)

The stage has been set for the evangelism scene. Let’s see if what Paul and Silas told the jailer sounds like what they had previously done elsewhere to make newbies and what Philip was saying and doing to make newbies.

”They said, ‘Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household.‘ And they spoke the word of the Lord to him together with all who were in his house. And he took them that very hour of the night and washed their wounds, and immediately he was baptized, he and all his household. And he brought them into his house and set food before them, and rejoiced greatly, having believed in God with his whole household.“

(Acts 16:31-33)

”Now the parable is this: the seed is the word of God. Those beside the road are those who have heard; then the devil comes and takes away the word from their heart, so that they will not believe and be saved.”

(Luke 8:11-12, NASB)

Paul and Silas sowed the word of God, the word, the gospel which the Messiah preached, in what they said to the jailer and his household. The jailer and his household - gentiles - believed the gospel they heard Paul and Silas preaching and were saved.

This is the New Testament model of how disciples of the Messiah, newbies, are made.

This is the Messiah’s evangelism program. This is the Messiah’s immortality program.

“But how can people call on him if they have not believed in him. How can they believe in him if they have not heard his message? How can they hear if no one tells [the Good News]?”

(Romans 10:15, GNT)

Paul knew precisely how newbies are made. They are made when people believe in Jesus. People believe in Jesus when they hear Jesus’ message preached.

Jew or gentile, believing in Jesus requires that people hear and believe what Jesus himself taught and preached.

Jesus and the apostles want the entire world to hear Jesus speak. The devil doesn’t want anyone to hear Jesus speak. A mute Jesus is not Messiah Jesus.

“The words that I’ve spoken to you are spirit and life.”

(John 6:63, ISV)

The words Jesus spoke, his message, his gospel, his teaching and preaching, are life giving words.

The words Jesus spoke aren’t only for the Jews. (That’s what the devil wants us to think.)

Separating Jesus from his life giving words brings death, not life. Separating Jesus from his words makes disciples of the devil, not disciples of the Messiah.

The words of Jesus are for all mankind, Jews and gentiles alike.

Jews and gentiles, don’t allow anyone to persuade you that the gospel which Jesus himself preached isn’t for you.
