It is well know that people prayed to idols

God always says .... so how did that work out for you ?

If you want results then you must pray to the Creator of all things for He is the maker of all things and the taker away of all things. Please God and put your self in His hand to mold you and you will have a good life, seek a false god to put your life into it's hands and you are worse off than if you just trusted in your own ability because there are no other gods whom you must pray that can control all things for good or bad... your choice is made by the free will given you by the One and Only God!
The Word himself said to pray like this:
Matt 6:9-15
9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
10 Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
11 Give us this day our daily bread.
12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
