I don't think the trees were physical. Temptation happened in the mind of Jesus in the desert ..so why didn't it happen the same way for Adam?
We each have a timeline with decision trees along it. The question is ..is the root node Righteous or self-righteous? Spiritual Circumcision changes the root node.
Sure is weird Cain went to Nod ...node
Scripture says Eve saw that the fruit on the tree was good for food.
Sounds literal.
Eating means to give into a choice.
A choice isn’t good for food.
The fruit was good for food.
It didn’t just say that she ate of the fruit, but that she SAW that the FRUIT was good for food, and then ate.
You don’t see metaphors.
temptation happens in the mind. The temptation of Jesus in the desert was in His Mind.
Temptation begins in the mind and heart but doesn't bear fruit unless you give in to the temptation. Eve gave in to the temptation and literally ate the fruit. If she had not eaten of the fruit she would have been tempted yes, but the temptation wouldn't have born fruit unless she gave in to the temptation, which she did. So the tree of the knowledge of good and evil was a literal tree. The sin was that Eve literally ate of the fruit of the forbidden tree. If Eve only had been tempted but not eaten of the Tree of the knowledge of good and evil then she would not have sinned. So Eve would have eaten a literal fruit making the Tree of the knowledge of good and evil a literal tree.
Eve didn’t just yield to temptation, she was deceived, but Adam wasn’t.
If the Tower Of Babel was about carnal man trying to save himself from another flood ..does that make the flood, GOD's Presence?
Adam and Eve / Cain and Abel is about GOD's Presence.

They didn’t scatter over the earth in the flood: they drowned.Genesis 11:4
Then they said, “Come, let us build ourselves a city, with a tower that reaches to the heavens, so that we may make a name for ourselves; otherwise we will be scattered over the face of the whole earth.
"make a name for ourselves" ..without GOD
"the whole earth" ..just like the flood
