In reading this topic here and in other threads,I'd say there are at least 2(?) who think homosexuality is acceptable to God in certain cases.

One tried to make the point that it was acceptable in a homosexual relationship. Not on a casual random partner way.

Another tries to offset the homosexual condemnation by parsing Heterosexuals into the equation so to claim God condemns both sexual behaviors under certain conditions in equal measure.

That failed,of course.

Giving excuses for egregious sin to continue is quite something to witness when the effort is made by those who identify as Christian,while identifying also as defenders of Sodomites.

Egregious sin is not strong enough for this one.....

Any Doctor or Surgeon who assists this thing in getting a Uterus and Ovaries transplant is, it seems to me, an Accessory before the fact to to this Conspiracy. Those Doctors and Surgeons should have their medical licenses revoked and be put in prison.

So when they decided to ordain "practicing gays" and the gay marriages were talked about or Minister wanted to split... we too a vote and a rousing majority voted to leave.

Politics is a messy business, church or no church.

3 decades ago I was part of a fellowship in Sarnia, Ontario. I tauht religious education for teenagers one year. The following year, some influential families wanted next year to include their 12 year olds BUT they did not want it to be put to a formal vote. They just wanted me to acquiese in violation of our written policy on what age the kids would be exposed to the many hard core issues I addressed, e..g., sex, drugs, other religions, atheism and ethics.

The moral decay starts in the cities. So these major denomination splits are often between city and rural churches.

There is no such thing as a gay Christian….but I have to qualify that statement. Those who are sexually oriented towards the same sex are not evil people…..they have a genuine hormonal leaning towards something over which they have no control. Are they to be victimized just because they were born this way?
I ask this in sincerity because of something Paul said…..at 1 Cor 6:9-11…

”Or do you not know that unrighteous people will not inherit God’s Kingdom? Do not be misled. Those who are sexually immoral, idolaters, adulterers, men who submit to homosexual acts, men who practice homosexuality, 10 thieves, greedy people, drunkards, revilers, and extortioners will not inherit God’s Kingdom.”
Now that is a comprehensive list, and if we look at what Paul said was the consequence of such behaviors, we see that drunkenness, immorality, aulterers, revilers, thieves and greedy people, as well as those who submit to homosexual acts, are all collected under one umbrella with the same outcome.
But look at what he says next….?

“And yet that is what some of you were. But you have been washed clean; you have been sanctified; you have been declared righteous in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and with the spirit of our God.”

So people may have engaged in any number of those things in the past…..and if they continued to practice them on becoming a Christian, they would disqualify themselves from inheriting the Kingdom…..so being homosexual is not the sin…it is engaging in homosexual acts, the same as engaging in heterosexual acts outsides of scriptural marriage also disqualifies a person. Jesus said that those who divorce and remarry when their spouse has not committed adultery is guilty of adultery (Matt 19:9)….how many people would this disqualify? What about drunkenness or people who revile others and use foul language? What is an idolater? Do we use images in our worship? An idol can be anything that is used as a religious symbol…even a cross is an image. How many wear them around their necks when God’s command was not to “make an image” of “anything” to be used in a religious way…bowing down to it or not. (Ex 20:4)

The way to show our Christianity is not in our jewelry but in our conduct and personality.

So the churches who openly welcome practicing homosexuals and do not require them to abide by the standard of marriage laid out in the scriptures, are basically sentencing them to death…..by not enforcing God’s standards, they are not giving them an opportunity to make a sacrifice for Christ, requiring less than the one he made for them. No one died from refraining from sex. Many single Christians sacrifice themselves for a good standing with God (Matt 19:12)…..in exercising the fruits of the spirit….”self-control and patience” are two that are most needed to live a life where love for God and his Christ are more important that love for one’s self.

The thing is Aunty, there are many born with tendencies to be alcoholic, gamble, steal, murder, and be pedophiles..., and yet Christ can help them overcome..

That has been my argument all along. Jesus did not prejudge people…..he saw the good in them and he encouraged them to change course. Those who did, left their former ways and became Christians.…as Paul said in 1 Cor 6:9-11….

If that is what some of these people WERE, then becoming a Christian meant leaving ANY of that behavior behind and allowing the blood of Christ to cleanse them of their sin…..they were then no longer condemned by their former ways, but “washed clean”…..apparently there are some here who need to wash their hearts and stop condemning those who may well come to Christ if they are invited by Jesus to do so. Being homosexual is not a sin unless you practice homosexual acts, which God says is abhorrent. Some cannot tell the difference.

Jesus words in Matt 19:12 tell us why we shouldn’t judge…
“For there are eunuchs, that were so born from their mother’s womb: and there are eunuchs, that were made eunuchs by men: and there are eunuchs, that made themselves eunuchs for the kingdom of heaven’s sake. He that is able to receive it, let him receive it.”

One can make themselves “eunuchs” for the sake of being received into God’s Kingdom…..they sacrifice their own flesh so as to become clean in Gods eyes. Why would anyone deny them that opportunity when Jesus didn’t. We will be judged as we ourselves judge others.

I have no idea how anyone can twist my words to claim that I support homosexuality without repentance.
Paul made it clear that ALL IMMORAL SEX is sinful. Perhaps it was mentioning divorce and remarriage that struck a nerve….but Jesus was also clear about that too. There is only one ground for divorce and remarriage…..
Matt 19:9….Jesus’ words…..
“I say to you that whoever divorces his wife, except on the grounds of sexual immorality, and marries another commits adultery.”

If your spouse did not commit sexual immorality with someone else, (sexual immorality doesn’t necessarily mean intercourse, but any sexual activity) then you are still married to them in God’s eyes and your remarriage is not valid. That makes you guilty of adultery…a sin that also bars you from the kingdom.

Are the ones pointing fingers equally guilty….I wonder?

Lust is what drives all sexual activity, but within a marriage, it breaks no law of God to enjoy the intimacy as God has joined two people as “one flesh”….with the intent of such activity to produce children. The fact that it is enjoyable is a bonus…..but the underlying (and more noble) reason for sex is to perpetuate the human race. Any unnatural sexual activity is therefore not within the bounds that God set for its natural expression.

Jesus words in Matt 19:12 tell us why we shouldn’t judge…
“For there are eunuchs, that were so born from their mother’s womb: and there are eunuchs, that were made eunuchs by men: and there are eunuchs, that made themselves eunuchs for the kingdom of heaven’s sake. He that is able to receive it, let him receive it.”

One can make themselves “eunuchs” for the sake of being received into God’s Kingdom…..they sacrifice their own flesh so as to become clean in Gods eyes. Why would anyone deny them that opportunity when Jesus didn’t. We will be judged as we ourselves judge others.

I have no idea how anyone can twist my words to claim that I support homosexuality without repentance.
Paul made it clear that ALL IMMORAL SEX is sinful. Perhaps it was mentioning divorce and remarriage that struck a nerve….but Jesus was also clear about that too. There is only one ground for divorce and remarriage…..
Matt 19:9….Jesus’ words…..
“I say to you that whoever divorces his wife, except on the grounds of sexual immorality, and marries another commits adultery.”

If your spouse did not commit sexual immorality with someone else, (sexual immorality doesn’t necessarily mean intercourse, but any sexual activity) then you are still married to them in God’s eyes and your remarriage is not valid. That makes you guilty of adultery…a sin that also bars you from the kingdom.

Are the ones pointing fingers equally guilty….I wonder?

I would say the same of any sinner, they have a weakness for some act of sin, but it is all sin. You cannot deny that as Gods Word lays it out...
