Absolutely....
The equipment in the oil fields was nationalized and essentially stolen from the American companies that installed it 20 years ago.
The oil is thick heavy crude (plastics, asphalt, and lubricants type) with high amounts of metals, Sulphur, and etc. It's generally considered low value.

Because of the low value and the nationalizing nothing has been upgraded in 20 years. Not to mention the brain flight out of Venezuela. (People who know how to repair, upgrade, and transport efficiently the collection of petroleum...I have worked along side of some of them here in the USA....good guys)

China was starting to do upgrades in Venezuela to secure their own source of petroleum. But got left holding a bag. (It was ours first)

However Venezuela also has a tariff on oil exports. And they used to receive a duty for all the oil exported providing all kinds of money from the oil. But when the communist dictator essentially stole all the oil....it only worked for a little while. Then all the gizmos broke and oil production was shrinking. There's still huge untapped reserves but it's not necessarily economically viable. (Costs more to drill, pump and 1st stage refine than it's worth)

The heavy crude petroleum is expensive stuff to handle for very little money. Oil Sands in Alberta is finding that out. (They spent hundreds of millions on a collection and refinery town there in the middle of nowhere....and now complain because they can't afford to send it by train and instead want to move it by pipeline. (Keystone pipeline) However that set of rail tracks is only economically viable if they railcar the oil....so the people up there will literally starve if the train doesn't run.

Stupid people making stupid decisions constantly....wanting the government to bail out their bad decisions.

Trump had a meeting with the Oil Executives that will be handling the mining and financials in VZ.
Let's see what the Oil Execs say because I believe that they are the ones who will be paying for it, not the American taxpayers.
Imagine that?
America isn't supposed to own private companies. Even though they may give them subsidies (loans) , we're not buying the companies themselves. And we charge them interest.
Anywho.. It's about an hour and a half long but you can skip through it and maybe find something educational.

The companies are not getting any money from the Gov't and if they whine about it all there are a dozen+ other companies waiting in the wings for the opportunity. The original companies from 20+years ago have been bought up by these oil companies....so essentially it is theirs. But the era of handouts to giants like this is over during this administration.

Then many of the political prisoners were freed in VZ yesterday. These were Christian missionaries, preachers and other political dissidents of the communist regime. There was a lot of rejoicing in VZ all over again as people got their loved ones back. Venezuelan citizens in the USA had very harsh words through their tears at the Democrats.

Meanwhile....in other parts of the world

Iran....they burned Mosques all over Iran including in Tehran. The women were burning burkas. They expect a complete government overthrow soon with the Shaw (royal family) returning and a new president with real power coming soon.

Mexico:....the drug cartels are running scared. They had left Venezuela and ran to Mexico but the President of Mexico is upset about American interference (her election is as shakey as Biden's was)

Cuba:.......they are getting extremely nervous and thinking they might not have done the best thing by becoming a communist country. They are dirt poor and have very poor infrastructure....being an island they dont have much infrastructure or resources and even their tobacco crops have fallen behind in quality to other areas. China and Russia have not given them much of anything but have leeched off of them to continue their pariah status. There have been many illicit boat trips to Cuba by Americans regularly...even missionary trips by Americans. They haven't helped the economy much except to show the disparity of wealth between the USA and Cuba.
It's not going to be much different from Puerto Rico or Cayman islands soon....except with a military base.

Turkey is on the dirty list as Kurds went to help the rioting kids and were executed by Iranian troops. The Iranian republic guard wouldn't have known if Erogan himself hadn't called and snitched deliberately to get them killed.

BRICS is in trouble overnight with the petrodollars being king once again, China is upset for losing essentially free petroleum....Russia is upset too for losing mor position and respect to the USA. Both had sold VZ radar and Air defense but maybe one shot got fired....neither one seen anything during the raid. Meaning both systems are worthless against American systems.

Greenland is seriously considering the offer of joining with the USA....but are uncertain about losing Denmark government benefits and heritage but having fishing again and a more robust economy. It's only around 57,000+ people....a thousand jobs and money does a LOT for their entire population. Between the mining, refineries, and restored fishing....its a lot to consider for them. Denmark doesn't want to lose the place but they haven't done anything for the people except in half measures for decades. The mining and refineries cant really operate under EU regulations....so it's an all or nothing.
