Here is what they say....

If you are trying to make yourselves
right with God by keeping the law,
you have been cut off from Christ!
You have fallen away from God’s grace.

Love the legalistic, hate the legalism...

"Legalism kills more congregations and
stops more individual spiritual development
than sin does..."

THE TRUTH IS....
All Christians are under the commandments of Jesus Christ!
To be RIGHT with God...
you have to obey ALL the commandments of Jesus Christ!
To reject the commandments of Jesus Christ, is to reject Jesus.
The commandments of Jesus Christ...The Word made flesh...
the words of eternal life...is the only way to God.

To reject the commandments of Jesus Christ
is to reject Christ the Son of the Living God.

John 6:28-29
Jesus answered, "The work of God is this:
to believe in the one he has sent."

To believe Jesus(the one God sent) is to
obey His commandments. This is the work
of God. If you do not believe Jesus(the one God sent)...
you will disregard and not obey the
commandments of Jesus Christ.

Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord,
shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he
that doeth the will of my Father
which is in heaven.

Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord,
have we not prophesied in thy name? and in
thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name
done many wonderful works?

And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you:
depart from me, ye that work iniquity. Matt. 7:21-23

It's obvious these "many" people believed in the Lord,
it's also obvious they believed they were saved. So how
is it the Lord said, "depart from me?" The Lord has
condemned them to hell.

The Lord says "I never knew you." How is that possible?

This really is easy to understand. And elementary.

You have 2 people.

One is OBEYING the commandments of Jesus Christ.

One is DISOBEYING the commandments of Jesus Christ.

Which one is Jesus going to say depart from me,
ye that work iniquity?

I will give you 1 guess.

Now the devil is going to tell you....

why you do not or have to obey the
commandments of Jesus Christ
to be saved)

But the truth is....

the devil is going to tell you anything but the fact
that you have to obey the commandments of Jesus Christ
to be in Christ, which is what you have to
do to be right with God.

Simple as that!

very elementary!

There is GOOD works and there is EVIL works.
Does God reward you for doing GOOD works?
Yes or No

What does God reward you for doing GOOD works?
Blessings or Curses

Does God punish or reward you for doing evil works?
Yes or No

What does God reward you for doing evil works?
Blessings or Punishment(curses)

Does it please God for you to do GOOD works?
Yes or No

What does God reward you with
when you please Him by doing GOOD works?
Blessings or Curses

Does it please God for you to do evil works?
Yes or No

What does God reward you with
when you displease Him by doing Evil works?
Blessings or Punishment(curses)

Very Simple And Very Elementary!

Love4Jeasus: the fact is "in Christ Jesus", we are not under condemnation!
We are not under the Law!
We are "seen through Christ" as clean!
We are " sealed in Heaven" until the "great Day of Redemption"!
We will remain in a state of war with our old nature, until the "Completion" in "that great day"!
We will meet Christ face to face in what is called the "Bema" judgement!
That "judgement" will not be to reduce our Salvation status; but to reduce or increase our "rewards" re our effectiveness for Christ on earth!
Jesus was addressing the Jews, in the words you quoted; He only ever addressed then in His first earthly walk; "I come only to the lost sheep of Israel"!
This points to a dispensation "Administration" which did not finish until Acts 28:28!
After that point; the "Mystery Church" began; the rules of which are in the last 7 letters of Paul!
Paul was the Risen Christ's mouthpiece; as such he was not in conflict with Christ; but was as the "chosen vessel" appointed to interpret the change from Law to "Grace"!

Please pick the correct statement?

When you disobey the commandments of Jesus Christ
you are "in Christ Jesus".

When you obey the commandments of Jesus Christ
you are "in Christ Jesus".

L4J: your response is strange?
Please explain your meaning?

We (Christ-ones) are "in Christ" when we respond to His love and Salvation offer; we are "sealed in Heavenly places"; and await the "completion"!
See Eph.2: 6, etc.!

Your reply does not make sense.

Floyd.

No?
But you are playing games!
Why would you do that?
On your first post you were taken seriously; but you lost that with your less than concise answers!
You seem to be one "out of the woodwork"; wasting peoples time on a serious Posting Board.
Please do not reply.

Love_4_Jesus: To reject the commandments of Jesus Christ
is to reject Christ the Son of the Living God.
Friends do.

Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.

Enemies don't.

He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings ...

He that is not with me is against me; and he that gathereth not with me scattereth abroad.

.
Floyd: We are not under the Law!
We're not made righteous by works (sacrifices) of the Mosaic Law.

We're still under God's governance.

Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you ...

We're subject to every word of Jesus.

I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee, and will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him. And it shall come to pass, that whosoever will not hearken unto my words which he shall speak in my name, I will require it of him.

We will be judged by the words of Jesus.

He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.

How can this be complicated? ... Either we're obedient or defiant.

Defiance ... Not the way to go! ... Bad stuff!

And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels, In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power;

Floyd: We are "seen through Christ" as clean!
If we're obedient. Don't overlook the "IF".

If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love.

God likes His commandments.
He thinks they're good.
He doesn't really care what anybody else thinks about them.
But, He considers those who are willing comply with His definition of goodness; His friends.

Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.

God put the "IF" there, and nobody has the power to remove it.

You do have the option to ignore it.

Shema here puts all things into perspective.

1) Only one person ever accomplished this one, to love YHWH Elohim with all, all, 100% all.

2) Upon this Law all of the prophets and Law hangs.

3) Jesus said to do this Law and it's primary position as number one in Mark 12

4) This is in fact the jump and LEAP to love God in the Holy Spirit asked for by Jesus and given by his Father. To indwell us believers and to draw the unbelievers.

Deut 30

6 And the Lord thy God will circumcise thine heart, and the heart of thy seed, to love theLord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, that thou mayest live.

Jer 31

31 Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah:
32 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the Lord:
33 But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the Lord, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people.

So then to love Jesus is to follow his commands. And the first one is the same one given in Deut 6 for all the Jews crossing into the Land of Milk and Honey:

3 Hear therefore, O Israel, and observe to do it; that it may be well with thee, and that ye may increase mightily, as the Lord God of thy fathers hath promised thee, in the land that floweth with milk and honey.
4 Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord:
5 And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.
6 And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart:

So then my friends you can ADD Jesus' hard sayings and his not-so-hard commands to his own and to the general populace who heard him then...

But remember ALL hard sayings of Jesus fall under SHEMA and no other stated law in the Bible.

Turn the other cheek. Walk the extra mile. Give the all, even the last centavos of the old woman who was more justified. Shema, her own credo.

Love your enemy. Lift the head of the poor, lonely destitute and decrepidated.

All this is, is giving back what God gave us. Relational, reciprocal, and spirit-to-Spirit.

Quote any part of this that you do not believe and tell me why?

But and yet all commandments of Jesus are just extensions of the Shema. Men have traditionally made their own extensions, and these were burdensome to men. And SAID to be by Christ and the God of him.

The reason why the Shema is still OVER the commands of Jesus is the same reason why the Shema was EVER over all other commands. It was originally designed to PLACE all authority where it exactly belongs.

God first, Jesus second. So then your first line: "The work of God is this: to LOVE the one he has sent."

...in light of true interpretation really means, "The work OF GOD is this: to LOVE the one he has sent."

See how your interpretation jumbles the whole verse if you know Jesus as the One True God? I won't refute your replacement of the word LOVE from pisteusEte. To BELIEVE.

Since I too believe FAITH and LOVE are overlapping metaphor. But I do have a problem with the traditional terp which does not see the Living God as the ONE who sent Jesus to us. THE ONE in your verse is the SENT ONE. The ONE who sent him is God.

I have noticed that the people who insist we all follow a bunch of commandments will never supply the list of commandments that they themselves follow.

Legalism is complicating the reason we were created - to love God and others. Some people on this board have tried to say that i advocate loving others BEFORE loving God.....thankfully, Jesus pointed out that loving OUTWARDLY is loving appropriately - if you are loving the person in need, you are loving Christ.

Hang on for a minute .... you are making a list you think we should follow

I want the list that you follow successfully

For example ... have you ever done anything that is unacceptable to God ?

You probably have , and so have I , thus we should not insist everyone else keep the commandments perfectly

It makes us look like preaching hypocrites

...

I am not trying to single you out wordofknowlege .... it is just that the legalists who insists we follow a list of commands are not even able to do it themselves

that was my point. thanks

John, Chapter 14, 21: He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.

1. Get a bible.

2. Open the bible to the Book of Matthew.

3. Start reading at chapter 5 verse 1.

4. Then when you come to a commandment for example...
such as this one

"Let your light so shine before men, that they
may see your good works, and glorify your Father
which is in heaven."

You take that one commandment and master it to
the point, you obey it every day all day long.

Then you get another one and do the same.

You repeat this process over and over,

each commandment one by one.

If you can't find a commandment in the 5th chapter
that you want to start out with...go to the 6th.

Just keep reading till you find your first commandment
that you are going to start with.

Then start.

5. When you have mastered that commandment.

Then pick you another commandment.

One by one.

Repeat this process over and over

till you are finished with

Matthew
Mark
Luke
John.

When they tell you that good works will not get you to heaven...

You ask them ...

WHAT GETS YOU TO HELL?

When they tell you that salvation only
comes by your faith in what Jesus did and not by your own works...

You ask them what kind of work is it to believe on Jesus.

Then you open up your bible and show them this...

John, Chapter 14, 12: Verily, verily, I say unto you,
He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also;
and greater works than these shall he do;
because I go unto my Father.

I will take on all comers.

Let's debate!

I have them all the time tell me that you can not merit your way to salvation.

I ask them can you merit your way to hell.

I never ever get a reply!

Then they will say all you have to do is believe in Jesus or accept Jesus or something along this manner.

I say that is a good work is it not?

I never ever get a reply.

You just LOVE God the way you want God to Love you.

You will not have to worry about the commandments.

You will be all up in them all the time.

You got any thing to say...say it.

I surely will answer it.
So then what commandments are the GREATEST ones? I mean like numero uno and numero dos? Nothead theoretically wants to know, just say.
