I have also changed the translation of the Greek word "Seismos" from "earthquake" to "turmoil" as it is a better fit to the context being referenced with this Greek word.

Jay, don't be changing the text of the translation. The text in the translation as "earthquake" is correct.

The verse is talking about a global earthquake, greater in intensity and span than any previous time in man's history.

Babylon the great, in God's thoughts, represents man's rebellion against God. And the population of the earth with their mark of the beast, 666, alliance to the beast, and the kings of the earth assembling their armies to make war on Jesus and His armies of heaven - will all be global rebellion against God.

So the great earthquake will be global, likely along present fault lines, and the mantle of the earth's surface split into three segments. Affecting islands and mountains around the world.

And great hailstone falling on men around the world, as God's wrath will be taken out on the world in rebellion against Him.

Douggg, we both know that you have no idea as to whether or not "seismos" has been correctly translated by the translators in the NT.

How can an Angel coming down from heaven cause a "Great earthquake"? On the other hand, among the guard at the tomb, there would have been "great turmoil" because of what they were seeing.

When Jesus was asleep in the boat, the disciples were afraid because of the "Great Turmoil" of the waves which were threatening to swamp the boat and subsequently causing it to sink into the lake. "Seismos" in this case is translated as "a storm", in which case to be consistent with all of the other times "seismos" has been translated in the NT, it should have been translated as "earthquake," but it was not.



From the above interlinear of this verse, it should have been translated in this manner, "And behold a great turmoil arose in the sea such that the boat was being swamped by the waves; However, He was sleeping."

If we replace the usual translation of "Seismos" in the English text as "earthquake" with instead "turmoil," every occurrence of the translation of "seismos" makes more sense within the context where it has been used in the NT.

In the above verse, the disciples were not afraid of the "storm," but they were afraid of the resulting turmoil in the waters of the lake.

So, your error in blindly accepting the way the translators have translated the Greek word "seismos" as "earthquake" is the real root of your own confusion in understanding the true context of what was originally written.

Get a life based on the true context of what has been recorded in the Greek text which is the basis of our English translations. In Rev 16:17-21, I am correct because of the manner in which I am presenting the context of this passage. There are three witnesses in this passage which points to what transpired during the 20th century. You on the other hand want this bowl judgement to be moved into the future by around 1,100 or so years.
