Apparently…..it’s a bit like going to the refrigerator because you’re making a salad but being told that you’re only allowed lettuce and no salad dressing….what is your definition of a salad?
Lettuce is the main ingredient, but not the only one.…and the dressing just makes it more tasty….

If the sidebar is a quick one I see it as no issue to veer off and then ack on course again. Though that topic you raised is one of the $M questions and is huge. And its a super one.

Yes, one common Spirit in the Body of believers should agree on most doctrine and scripture, so what gives, why not? I think that makes for more that a twist in the salad, its taste and its ingredients, it adds a new level of 4 more meal courses...

Another member introduced this verse as a witness in response to a question I had posed. He then asked if I thought Jesus lied. (What a question to ask a disciple of the Messiah!)

Since sin was a barrier that prevented anyone from approaching God personally after the fall, he appointed a mediator, whom the apostle Paul identified as the one they knew as “the man, Jesus Christ”. (1 Tim 2:5-6)
This mediator could not have been God or we would have needed a mediator between us and him as well.

Since I believe that the son of God pre-existed in heaven with the Father, for unknown eons of time before creation began, his appointment as mediator was needed well before his earthly sojourn.

Mankind sinned in Eden, creating the need back then for a “go-between”……so in answer to your question, the son has always been the mediator, or the third party who facilitated communication between God and mankind. He was just not known before he presented himself to John B for baptism in 29 CE when he became Jesus “the Christ”….and even now we are admonished to pray to the Father in his name.

I think back to the three angels who came to Abraham at Mamre, (Gen 18) to inform him about the child Sarah would bear to him…..one of the angels spoke as Jehovah. But the Bible tells us “no one has seen his form or heard his voice” as Matthias thread acknowledges. So to me, all communication from God came through his mediator...to all the ones you mentioned.

Jesus is known as “the logos”, or “the Word”, which can apply to one who is a spokesman or representative….one who speaks God’s words.

How is it bashing to ask a question? Perhaps you think it's perfectly fine to teach others that they can not be born again--since heaven closed, and -
that when you die physically that is how payment is made for your sins. Jesus buys resurrections for the sinless dead after you've died for pay for your own sins. No forgiveness needed. they will have 1000 years on earth in their mortal sinful bodies to prove they are worthy of life.. not sinning once or - poof dead. My parents died being duped by these false prophets. You think that's bashing? I have 10 family members who still shun me & my family for 30 years because I say Jesus died for our sins and that JWs they teach falsely.

I was saying that JW’s have more in common with Jewish monotheism than we do with any of Christendom’s teachings.
I know a lot about the sad tales in other denominations as well….why single us out?
Are they all saints except us?

Who are your brotherhood Matthias? Are we allowed to scrutinize them as well?

Most of the sob stories about JW’s are very one sided…..especially those that solicit sympathy…..there are always two sides to every story. Do we forget that Jesus is the final judge….and his judgment is all that matters……no one gets away with anything. There are only sheep and goats…..but there are goats masquerading as sheep….they lurk in my brotherhood too. People can pretend to be the opposite of who they really are.

There is offensive and defensive posting about JW’s in a thread that has nothing to do with the topic…..yet the poster who is offensive uses every thread possible to bash JW’s.
