This post is not to bash or claim that the Charismatic movement is heretical, unbiblical, or demonic in origins but it is to warn the movement of disadvantages to it that are in dire need of correction.

Origins of the Charismatic movement
The Charismatic movement began in the 1940's with the Latter Rain Revival and came into world prominence in the 1960s due to the flowing of the Holy Spirit in the gifts to mainline denominations. The Charismatic movement was birthed to try to in their stance "continue" the works of the Pentecostal denomination. which had become more sophisticated, intellectual, and organized. The Charismatics believed that the Pentecostal movement had grown dead and dry and that the Holy Spirit was no t manifesting in great waves like it did during the beginning of the Pentecostal movement. Charismatics believed in being filled with the Holy Spirit and all the gifts that accompanied it but they differed with Classical Pentecostals on tongues as the initial evidence that the Pentecostals held, the baptism of the Holy Ghost as subsequent to salvation and the doctrine of sanctification and Holiness which was/ is a critical piece to Classical Pentecostal doctrine/lifestyles. The Charismatic movement wanted the manifestations to permeate members of their own mainline denominations and make the move and flow of the Holy Spirit more marketable to the world as a whole. Thus the mega church and televangelist church movement was birthed through the Charismatic movement.

Major Shifts in the Charismatic Movement
Joel's Army Doctrine (Son's of God Theology)
Faith-Prosperity Gospel (Wealth Ideology)
Five-Fold Ministry Doctrine (Apostolic Succession)
"New Manifestations" (laughing in the Spirit, rolling, barking and howling, etc.)

The Charismatic movement is a young revival movement trying to keep the flames of revival burning without the sound teaching and instruction that needs to be given for the feeding and nourishment of the church. In a sense it is feeding spiritual junk food and desserts to the sheep in supplement for its lack or weak entree's.
1. Continue to Preach Salvation in Jesus alone (Acts 4:12)
2. Begin to preach and teach sound "biblical" doctrine (Titus 1:9)
3. Organize (Acts 20:28)
4. Learn! Grow in the knowledge of Jesus pass the revival stage (Hebrews 5:12)
5. Balance: learn to balance revivalism and discipleship (maturation) (John 4:24)

In Conclusion, I see the Charismatic movement as a powerful instrument of the Holy Spirit to the Church as a whole. But the movement has some dire errors that need correction. I'm a Pentecostal the same statements that are currently made towards the Charismatic movement were told to us. In some areas we needed the same correction. But we grew and matured and are still growing in the knowledge of Jesus Christ. You are the mother to Neo Pentecostal movements correct your children and show them the example of a godly mother. Charismatic movement grow in the Holy Spirit and the Word of God!
Farewell Scripture: 1 John 4:1-3 "Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world. 2 This is how you can recognize the Spirit of God: Every spirit that acknowledges that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, 3 but every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you have heard is coming and even now is already in the world."

1 John 4:
1 "Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God,
because many false prophets have gone out into the world.
2 This is how you can recognize the Spirit of God:
Every spirit that acknowledges that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God,
3 but every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus is not from God.
This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you have heard is coming and even now is already in the world."

I use this passage all the time, but do you know what the blue means?

Test the spirits is true. Test against the word.
I would not knock the OP but I think there is much more serious counterfit posing as Christian today.

Jesus coming in the flesh is the base of the life and work of Christ Jesus and His church. He was human and divine. He lived in eternity and yet came down to earth and took on the flesh of man and dwelt among us. John 1:14

IMO, the blue is Christian code-language for "God has come in the flesh".

Muslims, for example, have no idea what the blue really means.
I.E. Everyone, including Muslims, knows a man called Jesus Christ was born on the earth!
