Maybe we've got it backwards. Maybe Judas needed a little help to be persuaded to betray Jesus to ensure that He WOULD go to the cross.
Limiting of God, really

Acts 2:23 Jesus being delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, ye have taken, and by wicked hands have crucified and slain:

Hardly. God uses whatever instruments He wants to implement His "determinate counsel".
Agree, if you're not referring to an imaginary evil creature, I may have assumed incorrectly. There's a lot of confusion on this topic these days, and it often seems to blur the line between truth and misconception.

@David Lamb

You will recall when Jesus rocks his listeners back on their heels..saying "You are of your father the Diabolos! (devil)"

Well who was he?

Their is a very easy way to prove who the diabolos was in this context.

As you quoted in 1 John.3:8; John says that "the devil sinneth from the beginning"

Who sinned from the beginning?

By one MAN sin entered the world! (Rom 5.)

If the devil sinned from the beginning and sin entered the world by one MAN, then MAN was the devil! THERE was their father!

"Ye are of your father the diabolos (the carnal mind) and the lusts of your father ye will do." In the Grk. it reads like this.."The lusts of your father you WILL to do." the RSV says "Your will is to do your fathers DESIRES."

That's what they were doing. They weren't just falling victim to lust, they LOVED it! As they endured the agonies of their own self imposed strictures they LOVED it!

What WAS their father like? He was "a murderer from the beginning and ..he was a liar".

Jesus is not talking about the "serpent- devil" because he would not know what murder was!!! But Cain did! See 1 John 3:11. Listen to what John says about Cain. "we should love one another, not as Cain who was "of that wicked one." Cain very simply was "of the seed of the serpent."

He was the seed of carnal minded thinking!

Nothing more and nothing less!

Jesus understood these principles, as do I.

"But what's puzzling me
Is the nature of your game."
Good observation, Lambano.

Now just pause for a moment and consider this: an entire Christian population around the world believing in, and guarding against a creature that doesn’t exist, all while missing the real issues that truly deserve their attention.

Every occurrence in the NT where the writer is warning against sin only concerns our human nature.

Galatians 5

"Now the works of the flesh are evident:
sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality,
idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy,
fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions,
envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these.

Where are the works of the Devil? or Satan or whatever you want to call this make believe being?

The Apostles were super clear on what the enemy is!

2 Corinthians 4:4-6 (ESV):
“In their case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. For what we proclaim is not ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, with ourselves as your servants for Jesus’ sake. For God, who said, ‘Let light shine out of darkness,’ has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.”

So don’t be puzzled, Lambano. I’m simply doing what the Apostles themselves did, I’m teaching, warning against false teachings, and helping to point out what is true and what is in error.

There is no other motive, but this!

Think of these posts as removing the blindfolds!

If you read them carefully and even study them for yourselves, you will believe as Paul did.

Thanks for asking that question!

It’s not about what I think, Big Boy

It is however about what the Lord says and thinks and you reject the teaching of the Lord Jesus Christ and call Him a liar.

Jesus said the devil is an actual, being but you claim the devil is not therefore you are calling Jesus a liar!

I’d expect you to have countless stories of people being devoured due to their lack of faith

Well, there is this one guy on a talkboard who got devoured by satan and the result was spiritual blindness as this guy rejects scripture which is an earmark of those who have been deceived by satan. He goes under the screen name of "Hiddenthings"

Let's assume your foolish belief for a moment.

No, I'm not going entertain doctrines of devils like you are

1 Peter 5:8
Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:

This is a statement made the Lord in His Word and it is Truth. Those claiming it's not are calling God a liar!

So enjoy living for the devil who claim does not exist.

Unless you repent and get right with the Lord you will be spending eternity being tormented in the fire along side the devil and his demons that you claim do not exist. This is where the demon possessed spend eternity.

Who are the accuser of the brethren?

Your father the devil. :funlaugh2
