Jewish tradition suggests that Melchizedek, King of Salem, is actually Shem, the son of Noah. As the oldest living patriarch in Abraham’s time, Shem (2448–1846 B.C.) outlived his descendants, qualifying him as a high priest who could pass the priesthood to Abraham. Noah also blessed Shem...

24 And Noah awoke from his wine, and knew what his younger son had done unto him.
25 And he said, Cursed be Canaan; a servant of servants shall he be unto his brethren.
26 And he said, Blessed be the Lord God of Shem; and Canaan shall be his servant.
27 God shall enlarge Japheth, and he shall dwell in the tents of Shem; and Canaan shall be his servant. - Genesis 9

I would believe, if Melchizedek, or the actual Shem.... Came to depart this world was in the need of passing the blessing down, in which happened on Abraham...

18 And Melchizedek king of Salem brought forth bread and wine: and he was the priest of the most high God.
19 And he blessed him, and said, Blessed be Abram of the most high God, possessor of heaven and earth: - Genesis 14

But... Was Melchizedek even human? Was he an actual Angel?

1 For this Melchisedec, king of Salem, priest of the most high God, who met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings, and blessed him;
2 To whom also Abraham gave a tenth part of all; first being by interpretation King of righteousness, and after that also King of Salem, which is, King of peace;
3 Without father, without mother, without descent, having neither beginning of days, nor end of life; but made like unto the Son of God; abideth a priest continually. - Hebrews 7

Hebrews 7:13-14 gives away the clues that were given in all the previous Hebrews 7:1-12 verses:

Heb 7:13-14
13
For He of Whom these things are spoken pertaineth to another tribe, of which no man gave attendance at the altar.
14
For it is evident that our Lord sprang out of Juda; of which tribe Moses spake nothing concerning priesthood.
KJV

Lord Jesus Christ, before... He was born in the flesh, was that Melchizedek of The Old Testament Who met Abraham and offered Abraham "bread and wine", symbols of The New Covenant Gospel (Gen.14). The Gospel was preached to Abraham first, Apostle Paul said in Galatians 3. Abraham believed, and Abraham's Faith was counted by The Father as righteousness. Thus all those of Faith have become the children of Abraham, Apostle Paul also said.

Thus Lord Jesus Christ represented The King of Salem (Melchizedek) before He came in the flesh, and now as the Prince of Peace (i.e., Salem, which means Peace) since He died on the cross and was raised the third day (Isaiah 9:6 where Jesus is now called the "Prince of Peace.") This is not a backwards mistake. It is to show the Divine Person of Jesus Christ as GOD The Son in the triune Godhead of The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit. It serves as a Testimony that Jesus is... GOD, which is why Hebrews also says all things were created by Jesus Christ, and through Jesus Christ.

And Melchizedek honored Abram and said, “May good come to Abram from God Most High, Maker of heaven and earth. Honor and thanks be to God Most High, Who has given into your hand those who fought against you.” Then Abram gave Melchizedek a tenth of all he had taken. - Genesis 14:20 (NLV)

Some argue that Melchizedek was "Canaanite", but I think he was Shemite.
I agree that Melchizedek was likely Shem. Jesus being of the order of MZ could imply he was descended from him. Jesus was only "like" MZ and of/after his order, he was not MZ himself. Shem was blessed by Noah in Genesis 9. Shem is the only possible candidate out of all the persons of Genesis 10 and 11, unless MZ wasn't human but an angel or the angel of the Lord.

Melchizedek having no parents is just symbolic/figurative. And because Shem is post-Flood he could be said to have no ancestors (who were preflood).

A possible historical candidate for MZ is maybe Meskalamdug/Meskalamshar of Ur Meskalamdug - Wikipedia , since Chedorlaomer of Genesis 14 could be Gilgamesh/Izdubar of Uruk.

But Shem's parents (Noah and his wife) were both pre- and post-flood.

Was Melchizedek Human?

I would say No.

I would say Melchizedek was A Spirit, who appeared to Abraham in the Likeness AS a man.

Why?
Because…Jesus said so…

John 8:
[56] Your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day: and he saw it, and was glad.
[57] Then said the Jews unto him, Thou art not yet fifty years old, and hast thou seen Abraham?
[58] Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am.

Specifically, I would say THAT SPIRIT, was Christ the Lord Jesus Himself. (Who Has Always been the High Priest of God, and King Of Jerusalem )….
And ONE Day SHALL “Reclaim” His Position(S), that have been Held by substitute men.

Glory to God,
Taken

I am quite sure that last sentence was deep sarchasm indeed .
Wanna know something else .
LOOK real closely again at the PRAYER that PLEASED GOD . OH how IT PLEASED GOD .
GOD tells solomon as much .
SINCE YOU DID NOT ASK for RICHES , or etc
Them prosperity nar realm preachers are naught but lovers of mammon . Who get rich off the backs
of those who are desirious of them and their mansions .
Was it any marvel they then sold their flocks out to the well favored harlot and her cup of ecuemenical interfaith .
THEY preach for reward , for hire and for gain .
Had they actuallly preached the words of GOD they had caused his people to repent , to turn from their wicked ways .
BUT NO SIR . not them , nor the RCC nor much of christendom does . Rather
they prophesy of ya best life now , of a rainbow god , of a many path god
who has made the path to GOD very sin accepting , very UNBELEIF accepting through their lies
they called love and lov ing , tolerance and etc . THEY LIED to us all my friend and they LIE more so all the time .

Hebrews 7 points to Jesus Christ as the Melchizedek Who met Abraham and offered Abraham "bread and wine", and blessed Abraham. Then Abraham tithed to Melchizedek even when the Levitical priesthood was still in Abraham's loins and hadn't been born yet. Apostle Paul in Galatians 3 ties Abraham's Faith with The Gospel of Jesus Christ. Abraham believed, and it was counted to him as righteousness. Thus Paul says, all those of Faith have become the "children of Abraham". And that happened 430 years before the law was given through Moses.

Abraham was a Hebrew. The title Jew comes from the tribe Judah, which was much later.

The Hebrew name comes from Eber, which Abraham was a descendant of Eber.

Midian was a Hebrew also, a son of Abraham and Keturah.

The Edomites were descendants of Esau, Jacob's elder brother.

If Abraham was Hebrew why were all eight of his eight biological sons not considered Hebrew?

The word Hebrew has a wide application. See Genesis 11 for the descendants of Eber. Abram is listed in verse 26.

So I don't who is telling you Abraham's children were not considered Hebrews. They certainly were not Jewish, that's easy to know, because that title of Jew is derived from the sole tribe of Judah. None of the ten northern tribes were Jews, because that name was used by Judah in the land of Judea by the tribes joined with them, those being Benjamin and Levi, and the strangers among them. The Jewish historian Josephus said the title of Jew is what those who returned to Jerusalem from the Babylon captivity called themselves.

It's the false Jews of the "synagogue of Satan" that want everyone to believe that the Israel in the holy land is the only true Israel of God, when that is not so, nor Biblical. God had removed the northern ten tribes of Israel about 120 years prior to the Jews of the southern "kingdom of Judah" going into captivity to Babylon under Nebuchadnezzar. God split old Israel into two separate kingdoms because of Solomon allowing his many pagan wives to bring their idols in among the children of Israel. God gave Jeroboam of the tribe of Ephraim to rule over ten tribes in the northern lands, and called it the "kingdom of Israel". So in reality, God's true Israel is represented to a greater degree by the ten tribes which made up the majority of the children of Israel.

Therefore, when you hear some Jews make the false claim that the ten northern tribes of Israel, known as the ten lost tribes, no longer exist, or were already absorbed back together at some point with the "house of Judah" (Jews), then that is nothing but propaganda straight from the false Jews of the "synagogue of Satan", those Jesus said only say... they are Jews, but are not. Those are about foreigners that crept in among Israel long ago, especially among the tribe of Judah. For example, the scribes were joined with the Pharisees which wanted Lord Jesus crucified. Those scribes were actually descendants of the Kenites of the land of Canaan (1 Chronicles 2:55).

The other sons of Abraham blended in with the Arabs. Ishmael is regarded by Muslims as an Islamic prophet. I bet you they would not get away with calling them Jewish!

Yet Ishmael is still related to the Hebrews because of being the son of Abraham. Like I said, the Hebrews have a wide application. I have both French and British ancestry, so which am I? In reality I am of Celtic origin, because the Cimmerians who migrated across the Black Sea and the Caucasus Mountains into Europe is where the major root stock of Caucasian peoples that settled old Europe originated. That means the French Gauls, Welsh, Irish, Scots, Nordic, Angles, Saxons, etc., are all related to each other going back to the Cimmerian tribes that fled the east and came into Asia Minor and Europe.

I had a Scottish pastor send me a news article long time ago where a DNA test was done from those various groups of Caucasian peoples in Europe. It was done to show how the Anglo-Saxons are wrong because they claim they are a different race of people than the rest of Europeans. The results proved all the groups came from the same root stock of Caucasians.

Melchizedek was and is a preincarnate Yeshua.

You can see Him in several places in the OT.

But the people that love words and their intellect will deny.

Existing "without father or mother, without genealogy, having neither beginning of days nor end of life," suggests he was an angel, not human unless he was the preincarnate Lord Himself - A Christophany?

Hebrews 7:13-14 gives away the clues that were given in all the previous Hebrews 7:1-12 verses:

Davy I've heard this before, yet i cannot believe that. As it states in verse 1 of Psalms 110:
"The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool."
And then further on is recorded:
4) "The Lord hath sworn, and will not repent, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchizedek."
Meaning? Jesus Christ of Nazareth COULDN'T be Melchizedek, as The "Order" of that Priesthood was established long BEFORE hand!
There's a whole lot more TO the "Government of the Kingdom of God" that Jesus Christ of Nazareth bares (upholds) on His shoulder.

Midian was a Hebrew also, a son of Abraham and Keturah.
Midian was not technically a 'Hebrew' in the sense of being an Israelite.

The promise of tthem 'Hebrews' and 'Israelites' by descend, GOD made with Abraham and Sarah, and in Isaac shall their seed be called.

Romans 9:
7. Neither, because they are the seed of Abraham, are they all children: but, In Isaac shall thy seed be called.

Also remember latter down the line, when the house of Jacob ended up in Egypt and multiplied, they were all referred to as 'Hebrews' in general.

Shalom in the name of Jesus Christ
