What books are you reading?
Besides the Bible, I'm currently reading

chronicles.jpg

Which is pretty good.

I'm also reading

It's a bit outdated, having been written in 1899, but it's amazing of the author's insight and how much of what he believed to happen has happened and continues to happen, while it didn't happen when he said it would happen, reading this book is like reading todays headlines.

It’s not uncommon for me to read more than one book at a time. Last week I purchased a children’s book to give to my grandson but I soon discovered that he’s a little too young for it. I’m continuing to read it, alone for now -> Inch and Miles: The Journey to Success, written by Coach John Wooden, with Steve Jamison and Peanut Louie Harper.

Read widely. Read deeply. Read thoughtfully. Read critically.

Read to and with your young children and grandchildren.

Better? Okay.

It’s best not to be book deprived or sleep deprived.

Read and sleep … but not at the same time.

Ecclesiastes 3:1. (If you don’t remember what it says, look it up in the book.)

I had a great uncle who served as a marine in the pacific theater in WW II. I recall him saying at various times in my youth: Semper FI and “Improvise, adapt, overcome”.

Just a little something to keep in mind for those confronted with this complication.

The U.S. Navy also has a saying: “Don’t give up the ship.”

I didn’t serve in any branch of military service but I have a similar saying: “Don’t give up the book!”

What has happened to this incomparable pleasure in our day? It has been replaced, in the lives of many, with things of lesser value deemed to be of greater value.
