LOL
A false misconception?
Isn't that a double negative?
As in a correct perception.
I guess I agree.
You seem relentless in your need to assert dominance. What do you hope to gain from this, SteVen? Is it an attempt to restore your reputation, or does it simply make you feel more at ease to think you have the upper hand over someone else?

Why not start a new thread? It seems this back-and-forth serves some purpose for you. We’re already on page two, perhaps it’s time for "Next Thread!"

You seem relentless in your need to assert dominance.
That saw cuts both ways.
You hijack the role of teacher to those who have zero interest in being your students.
As I said, you need to earn the right to be heard. (google it)

Is this the extent of your understanding of the Gospel? 5 pages of using the same one-liner! You certainly are Quiets teacher!

You hijack the role of teacher to those who have zero interest in being your students.

I am not hijacking anything; I am responding to the deficiencies I see, in the hope that you might move beyond always learning yet never coming to a true understanding of the Gospel.

As I said, you need to earn the right to be heard. (google it)
Is google your point of reference?

Should we reverence anything but God?

What sort of things are reverenced inappropriately?

What behaviors of others illicit indignation on your part?
Due to their perceived irreverence.

Is it blasphemy to speak irreverently about things other than God?
The church, the Bible, a denomination or practice?

When you reverence something, isn't that worship on some level?
Possibly even idolatry?

I love this, reverence is a favorite practice of mine.

Reverence is a spectrum, as all ideas are, meaning that we can effectively reverence all things to some degree, so long as what is revered is in proper alignment with the purpose thereof.

It is inappropriate to reverence anything rooted in disobedience that has not been sanctified by the express blessing of God. It is an affront to God to pervert His words, and the elevation of a base meaning over a higher meaning is the cause of much such iniquity.

I am indignant for the widespread abuse of words and for the complete lack of regard people have for the use of them!

Blasphemy comes from a Greek work that means "evil speech." In English it carries expressly religious connotations, but the root of the word identifies the improper use of any God given word (I don't think yeet or skibidi are God given although they could be technically considered 'words,' like a hot dog is a sandwich).

I fear God and reverence according to His command. He is the only focus of all my worship, and it used to be that I would destroy anything in my life that I found myself placing over Him. He guides me differently today, but that was how I began in fear and reverence early on.

Thank you for a wonderful topic, @St. SteVen

Thanks for your post and your support for the topic.

Where do you draw the line on what to reverence? Do you see reverence as a form of worship?
I wonder if you are referring to respect, rather than reverence in some of your statements. ???

The highest reverence is worship, with the proper worship of God being our consistent practice of recognizing the supremacy of His worth. Respect is what reflected toward others as a result of proper reverence for the Creator.

Reverence ranges a deep admiration to an adoring worship. Respect starts at tacit acknowledgement of presence up to socially appropriate restraint as dictated by Godly principles of good character.

With The LORD rightly enthroned in Zion, His presence aligns just as His absence atrophies. I draw no lines, I only seek those eternally present with the Father that I may subject myself to truth unto satisfaction.

This speaks to perfectly to Deut 10:12 “And now, Israel, what doth the LORD thy God require of thee, but to fear the LORD thy God, to walk in all his ways, and to love him, and to serve the LORD thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul.”

It's a favorite of mine because the order teaches a certain reality once you come to know Him.
