The only reason Satan has power, THE ONLY REASON, is because he takes just enough truth that one can believe in and then distorts it.

He speaks to Eve saying "did God say not to eat from the tree of good and evil, well that's because God doesn't want you to become like him if you do eat it. Just look how beautiful it is.

The Occult didn't come first. God did, and God made it clear that all creation comes from His "GOOD" work. Understand also, that God created Lucifer and if God so desired God can un-create him real fast, like a vapor. The Occult is a distorted and fractured representation of God's goodness. It attracts those who are looking to question God.

God made a loaf of unleavened bread, Satan tempts us to add a little leaven to it, and when we do, we eat the Occult because the bread is now unholy.
Agreed.

I really need to say this because it needs to be said, especially since @jessicaleks93 is coming out from a New Age background.

When I came into Christianity, I was leaving the occult, and what made it extremely difficult was learning that there are a lot of New Age beliefs they will try to tell you are Christian.

I used tarot cards, i-ching, runes, astrology, tea divination- you name it, thinking I was communicating with God. I figured it's okay, as long as I am actually speaking to Jesus through the i-ching because a guy on a website told me so and gave a bunch of Bible verses that lined up with the course he was trying to sell me.

I was not communicating with God. I found that out the hard way. A spiritual attack is not something you ever want so just throw it all out.

You'll find there are a lot of "Christians" still using numerology or opening up to "random verses" and close eyes with a finger on it to find out what God is saying, or if you were me getting "instructions" on the random Bible verse generator.

All together just don't. Just read the Bible and pray and let God do what he wants.

Most of the time, the most active times I have ever seen God in my life is when he was also the most silent. He did everything without saying a word. You don't need to "hear" Him as much as you need to know Him.

You're spot on. Also, as Christians especially, we need to realize that we don't need more knowledge about Satan, but we need to simply do more than we're doing. In other words multiplying. Help the needy, the sick, visit those in hospitals that have no one, feed the poor, perhaps invite them into the home, cloth the poor and bless them with comfort. In many cases, a little goes a long way. Let's get our hands in it, not just our money.

Be blessed

How lovely, what is the second death?
I would ignore him on that note, a medium is someone who talks to the dead and invites them to posses them to speak thru them. I don't see that you have spelled out spiritual medium anywhere.

Dev, seems like to me that you stopped reading the verse at "medium" and ignored the fact that the verse also included familiar spirit which includes all forms of demonic control over a person's life. Seems like in your advice that you were speaking of familiar spirit so should this verse be ignored, or do you have in fact a beef with me and are just expressing that beef because of familiar spirits that just lie under the surface. Familiar spirits are very able to be present in our lives such that we often do not know that we have them.

Leviticus 20: 27; - - 'A man or a woman who is a medium, or who has familiar spirits, THEY shall die the second death; you shall stone them with stones. Their blood shall be upon them.'"

Jess, in answer to your question re the second death, this is a big topic and should be treated in another topic. This is just a brief explanation: -The second death is the destiny we will experience when we are turned away from God's loving embrace at the time of the final judgement. This can be found in Revelation 20. When we all sin, Christians included, we all become candidates for the second death, but because God is a loving God when we sin, if we become repentant and confess our sin(s) then He will forgive us our sins and we will regain life once more and live at the time of the Finial Judgement and not experience the second death at that time.

Jess I also know that you have not asked for prayer in this thread, but just as I have prayer for others on this forum, please accept this prayer as it can change your life: -

Lord, please include Jess among those who you are drawing to yourself so that she may know your peace, embrace and love for her so that she will become one of the people who inhabits your fertile soil such that she will take nourishment from your fertile soil and live in your purposes for her whole life in righteousness.

PS to the above: - May Jess find righteous people around her to help her on her journey with you.

Shalom

How lovely, what is the second death?
When Jesus returns He will call His elect unto Himself with the sound of a Trumpet. The Holy Spirit from out of the book of revelation calls this the First Resurrections, and it goes on to explain that anyone who was not caught up in the First Resurrection will go to the second death. Blessed are all those who are in the First Resurrection. The second death is eternal death, the first death is the flesh. The second death is Gods white throne judgement which occurs after the Millennium. Here the Holy Spirit teaches that Gods angels will be instructed to gather all souls and all those among the living who were not in the first resurrection and God will separate them into two groups and if there is cause by Gods mercy to allow for an exception to be made, He may allow from this group to enter His kingdom. It's not a risk anyone should be taking. Imagine if you had a 50/50 chance to lose your life in a one time playoff at a casino for One Billion Dollars. Would you take that risk with your life? If not, why would one risk his/her soul for the temptation of gaining something that perishes. On the other hand, if you could obtain an insurance policy assuring your inheritance of eternal life, at no cost and tax free, would you turn it down?

Now consider this world. What do you see?

This is the passage that Writer is referring to in his post above: -

Revelation 20:4-6:- The Saints Reign with Christ 1,000 Years
4 And I saw thrones, and they sat on them, and judgment was committed to them. Then I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for their witness to Jesus and for the word of God, who had not worshiped the beast or his image, and had not received his mark on their foreheads or on their hands. And they lived and reigned with Christ for a thousand years. 5 But the rest of the dead did not live again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection. 6 Blessed and holy is he who has part in the first resurrection. Over such the second death has no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with Him a thousand years.

He also referred in part to this passage as well: -

Revelation 20:11-15: - The Great White Throne Judgment
11 Then I saw a great white throne and Him who sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away. And there was found no place for them. 12 And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God, and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books. 13 The sea gave up the dead who were in it, and Death and Hades delivered up the dead who were in them. And they were judged, each one according to his works. 14 Then Death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. 15 And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire.

Jess, read these two passages carefully and consider if what has been told to you above is true. Let the Holy Spirit guide you in the forming of your opinion and what God is telling us in the two scriptures above.

Shalom

I'm new to establishing my faith in Christianity and currently reading the bible cover to cover (I'm very far into to Genesis).
What does the bible say about psychic intuition, I'm aware its against seeking out and visiting psychics, fortune tellers etc but what about if you as an individual have psychic abilities / intuition?
I've had these abilities since I was 4, I have no mental health issues, I get 'information' just drop in all the time and its right every time, its getting stronger with age too, as a child and mostly as a teenager I would see spirits, not as much now at 30 years old though. I can tell certain things about people within a couple of minutes of meeting them, so I'm definitely in tune to something, but I keep this to myself as I know its often made fun of. I also find myself very sensitive to other people's energies and it can wear me out physically real bad if I'm around toxic people.
Is there a possibility that is actually just the holy spirit? And I'm more open to hearing him. I never get told anything bad or evil or do bad things by the way so its not a demon or anything, usually warnings if anything.
None of this deters me from praying or not having faith in God to provide me with answers to things, but sometimes the information that drops in is too much, or really too frequent and it can get too much for me at times and obviously I can't block it out.

Has anyone else dealt with this, or got any advice, scripture I can refer to or knowledge on this stuff in Biblical teachings?
Do you have any blood relatives, like a mother or grandmother that has these abilities? From what I've observed a 4 year old child inherited it from someone in your blood line. It is not a human trait from God. Do you know if they may have consulted an Ouija Board or held seances?

Sorry if you've already been asked. I have only read your post #1

We have come across those who say see 'spirits' that talks to them or say they have an 'angel' that guides them, but it has not turned out to be a blessing to say the least. Here is a good video on the issue...

I think you would do well posting a topic on specific verses in debate. I think you'll get a lot of responses.

Having said that, the Old Testament is also a historical record and should be read in full context and you have to research and ask questions from people who know more than you. And it will be that way with everything in life. Always have people who know more than you, or you will miss out!

Example in Numbers 19:

“The heifer is to be burned—its hide, flesh, blood and intestines. The priest is to take some cedar wood, hyssop and scarlet wool and throw them onto the burning heifer…For the unclean person, put some ashes from the burned purification offering into a jar and pour fresh water over them. Then a man who is ceremonially clean is to take some hyssop, dip it in the water and … sprinkle anyone who has touched a human bone or a grave or anyone who has been killed or anyone who has died a natural death. The man who is clean is to sprinkle those who are unclean on the third and seventh days, and on the seventh day he is to purify them. Those who are being cleansed must wash their clothes and bathe with water, and that evening they will be clean.”
.

Sounds like an occultic ritual?

it's a recipe for soap
I've made a thread about it in the bible study section.
Yes it does sound like an occult ritual.... so where did it go astray from the bible to being used for evil?

Absolutely and I'm glad you agree. The New Age is what lead me to Christianity tbh and you're right, there is much of it which claims to be Christian, and that's why I chose to start reading the bible and learning the truth as I don't actually think there is New Age stuff that is Christian, but maybe they say it is to make it seem good. I'll be honest I have seen Jesus repeatedly on psychedelic trips and every time he told me to follow him, and I genuinely believe that was Jesus coming through to me, as in drop the 'new age' stuff, drop the psychedelics to tune in and just follow him and his ways, his teachings, the bible. I used to be Christian, but lost faith, and went off exploring spirituality and its like its brought me back full circle, and I'm really starting to see that Christianity and Jesus is actually the way all along, and that I needed to go off course to see that. Thank you for understanding and not being judgemental.

It is not an occultic ritual that I quoted. It's a recipe for soap, because they were coming into contact with deceased people.

It just sounds like a ritual. So that's why you need to research. There's usually a logical reason and the OT contains historical truth, which means a lot of it is brutal.

It doesn't mean God supported those things. It means those things happened. As @Peterlag said, the gospels first.

When you're starting off, it's just usually the best place to start.

They shut my voice down again so that I can't teach on the truth of who Jesus is.
What do you mean? You just wrote this post. Or are you talking about the other post that I see Admin. locked?

I wanted you to know in a response to the other post that you said: "it's the gift of His nature that He gives to believers," that is what I, myself, have been teaching for years. But the Calvinistic influence and even going far back in the Catholic teachings when God's Spirit was only felt on a few like St. Francis of Assisi, that I was very impressed with your post. Your "denomination" or "sect" (don't know what you would like) in Christ's Church teaches more truth than fiction. I sort of feel akin to you and what you're saying about this computer site and others not accepting your beliefs because I've been banned from 2 sites myself for what I teach on sinlessness. I began to think I was the only one in the whole world that teaches what I've been shown and taught by God when He answered my prayer to wipe my mind of all wrong teachings from my past and to reteach me ONLY what the true meaning of every verse and ever doctrine from those verses that He spoke. It was amazing. God began immediately. It is so cool when you pray a prayer that is 100% His perfect will.

You've got me as a friend on here. Just keep loving people on here. Love erases a multitude of wrong doctrine. I say that because of a radio show I listen to. Even though their doctrine is like swiss cheese and not the whole gospel, their love for Christ will bring them to heaven. That is what 1 Corinthians 3:15 means. "15 If anyone’s work is burned, he will suffer loss; but he himself will be saved, yet so as through fire." I never hear anyone interpret this in context. What I do here as an interpretation is that their sins won't keep them from heaven. Oh my, now that's a heresy. But even those that teach that can be saved if they, themselves are abiding in Jesus.

'm not denying that the voice I hear is the Holy Spirit and whoever it actually is, is definitely not bad in anyway, I've clarified that very clearly in my original post, its either a loved one watching over me or the holy spirit, its definitely not a demon or anything evil, I've never once been shown or told anything evil, bad etc. I'm always given warnings and information for my wellbeing and others around me and its proven true everytime. No this is not the devil pretending either. Hence my post asking if this could in fact be the holy spirit
I’m glad you don’t deny the Holy Spirit speaks to you.

By what means would he use to speak and what in you does he speak to?

How would you know it was him speaking to you?

I do support the belief in spiritual gifts within the church.

Regarding Darby and the pre-trib rapture, I find this revelation to be suspiciously late in the game.
Is that a moth of your profile?

It looks like a banana, excellent camouflage if it is a moth.

Your concept of good doesn't line up with God's, and since you don't see evil, you're "good" with that. How does it stray?
Romans 1:21-32 Read it until it sticks. Evil never see's itself as evil; it seeks and lusts after recognition, it wants the whole stage and the power to take the bow, and praised for being unique, not realizing they're compromising God's glory.

When we become born again, the person we were and the lusts we possessed died on the cross with Jesus, like the thief on the cross with Jesus. That man lived to glorify himself through deceit, robbing God of His glory. Now his flesh was on the cross and he repented before Jesus desiring God's glory and rejecting his own body realizing that apart from Jesus, he amounted to nothing and worthy of death. Jesus pardoned him, and said "today, you will be in paradise with me.
