What does the future of the Church hold for us in these next few years? The shakings are beginning and yet it seems the church is just as confused as ever, sleep-walking at a time we should be seeking the face of God as to how to walk as true overcomers. Religious observances, doctrines with no accompanying life, 1000 splits and schisms, and the world looks on and says 'no thanks'. Can we honestly blame them? We are to be the light of the world, but the light we do possess, small and flickering, is hidden under our pet bushel baskets, and we push church rather than Jesus, because that is where as a people we are for the most part.

Is this the way it will end, with the church once planted in power, joy and single eyed joy, now just hunkered down in religious service, waiting for the their extrication from this mess of a planet? Is this what overcoming looks like?

God has showed me what He has in store for all those who love the light, and it is mind bogglingly wonderful, but I first want to hear what you think God's plan is for us in these last days. What say you?

I guess that depends on who the "US" is in your opening sentence.
The "church" has been doing exactly what the Bible said it would do....it has been "sleeping" at the wheel. This is what allowed the "weeds" to be planted in the first place. (Matthew 13:24-30; 36-43)

If true Christianity was to be an active church, then what do you call the divided mess that is Christendom today? They sit in their buildings with many empty seats, but no one is actively doing what Jesus commanded. Why?
Matthew 28:19-20....Jesus commanded...
"Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
Is this what we have seen Christendom's churches doing? Have they actively gone out to the people like Jesus disciples in the first century? (Matthew 10:11-14)....or have they rather sat and waited for the people to come to them? What could possibly attract them? They have little to offer the people who need to hear the "good news of the Kingdom" before "the end" comes. (Matthew 24:14) But in the churches, almost no one is preaching to anyone except the converted.....is this what Jesus meant?

How sad is it that people are not even taught what God's Kingdom is...? They prattle off the "Lord's Prayer" without any idea of what it is that they are praying for. Is that good enough? Any wonder people are lost.

Going through the motions of an empty and repetitive church ritual is no longer attracting anyone.....there are few good examples, as sinners are tolerated without discipline, and when people ask the hard questions...they rarely get satisfying answers. They often walk in empty and leave the same way.....and some pick their "Christianity" up at the door and leave it there on their way out. :(

What do you think people are waiting for? And what if they are not "doing the will of the father" when Jesus comes as judge? (Matthew 7:21-23) What happens to those who are "Christians" in name only?

The last days are bearing down on all of us, but not all will succeed in passing the final test. If one does not know what the will of God is for them at this juncture, then who is going to tell them? Their Leaders appear to be clueless. Too busy being "friends of the world" to be friends of God. (James 4:4)

Let's start off buy asking.....what is "the good news of the Kingdom"? When Jesus taught us to pray for it...what did he mean?

What do you understand by ' church ' ?
You appear to mean organisations. Do you regularly attend a meeting of believers?

The patterern for Christians as seen in the bible is to belong to a local group of belivers and to worship, be challenged, encouraged and to encourage others as one regularly meets with them.
Is that what you do?

No, it is not. There was a time I would avoid having to reply to such a question but no more. I tried for a long time to be a part of an organized church but invariably, after a few feel-goods from a worship service stoked by Hollywood-worthy musical entertainment that was the only time it seemed people broke through the veil of religious clouds that seemed to keep God far from us, we would drift right back into our stupor of another lifeless, pointless repetition about the death of Christ, while remaining ignorant of the truth that when Jesus rose from the dead, so DID we.

I wish it were not so. I want my family to be able to see church not as a collection of doctrines we find palatable, or of starving children of God given nothing more than being healed only slightly, while the pastor says to them 'Peace, peace' when there is no peace.

The question before us is..... why? How did the church.... not an organization but an organism full of the life of Christ flowing out from each one and expressed as fruits of the Spirit.... how did it evolve into what we now call the "church"? Until we can figure out why the salt lost its savor, and the church (as we know it) became a shell of its former self, we will continue to walk on in blindness, even as the signs point to a soon coming end.

The first is the most painful.... admitting we do not possess what we profess. And the shakings God is now bringing upon the whole earth are sent from our loving Father not to crush us, but to break up the fallow ground that is our heart.

God is doing something amazing and revival IS coming. But it is not what we think. The church, the TRUE church, saints... wheat... sheep.... now mixed so thoroughly with the tares, asleep to the truth of who we are in Him, is about to be awakened by God Himself. The parable of the 10 virgins is about to be played out before our eyes. The parable of the sheep to busy with life as we know it to look up for the life He offers us is happening even now.

Changes are coming. Big changes. And if we will only admit our deep need of being thoroughly possessed by Him, we will discover that the early rain, the book of Acts, will pale in comparison to what God has planned for us before His return.

blessings,

Is not the good news that it is no longer us that live but Christ who now lives in us? And yet.... do we believe it? Has this truth become the shield that keeps us untouched when satan temps us to sin? Do we understand that it is this truth, and our agreeing with God that the old us is really dead, that allows us to soar as eagles?

In Revelation, we are told that the saints, long grinding corn to the delight of the enemy, will be transformed into true overcomers by two things. The first is the blood of the lamb. Amen and amen! And most all the children of God agree on that point. However, there is a second part, for it is "the blood of the Lamb AND the word of THEIR testimony.

We are about to learn exactly what that means and when we do, our lives will never be the same. Glory!

As to what the church is to me, it is the invisible collective of saints, found in all denominations and yes, even outside the organized visible church most have come to think of when the word 'church' is mentioned.

Right now, in what we call church, the wheat and tares are growing together, and have been doing so ever since the early church was infiltrated with wolves in sheep's clothing after the death of Paul. But a day is soon coming where the wheat will awaken to who they really are and there will be a coming out from among them. The parable of the 10 virgins tells us this very thing. The organized church as we know it will not stand, being rent apart, but the celestial church, invisible but very real, will begin to be seen by our eyes. I for one cannot wait.

It freaks people out to say there will be no more denominations, and our minds cannot wrap around how this would all work. But when Jesus opens our eyes and we light our lamps, putting on our new nature like a fine white robe, denominationalism and the organized 'church' will have served itheir purpose..... preserving the essence of the Christian message for two thousand years until the latter rain is outpoured upon us.... US! Glory! We will see the restoration of all things and if we think the book of Acts was amazing, then what God has for us to walk in will simply blow our minds and overflow our hungry starving hearts.

blessings,

Yes that will happen when Jesus returns, untill then you are one of the wheat who lives and grows with the tares.
No where are we told to separet from the world, rather we are to be part of it, a living witness, salt and light in a corupt and dark place.
That inclueds the organised church.
