Although I have seen that when any ideological group wants to attempt to claim him as their darling, it will be impossible for them because no sooner have they accepted him for what he said against the opposing ideology, he will most assuredly point out the fractures, inconsistencies and absurdities of their own.
So anyone who tries to place him in any certain ideological box will run into trouble, because when they ask him, are you thus and thus or do you believe in such and such, he will immediately ask them to define "thus" and "such."
In a 2017 interview, Peterson was asked if he was a Christian; he responded, "I suppose the most straight-forward answer to that is yes". When asked if he believes in God, Peterson responded: "I think the proper response to that is No, but I'm afraid He might exist".
