Hope you do mind my sharing and findings with you today in which we are going to take a look at some scriptures that have to do with Spiritual Maturity, if you are interested.

The scriptures will be down below following my own personal comments afterwards, whatever you do not believe me if anything, and trust in God and the Lord Jesus Christ to help guide you to better understanding of the bible scriptures.

Going to list all of the scriptures here that will be gone through.

Spiritual Maturity:

These have personal comments with-in them ~ Whatever that is said that is wrong please scrap that and cling on to what is Good ~ The Holy spirit is with-in you for the scriptures say so; if you desire to go through these commentary please feel free to do so; Am commenting off of most of my own knowledge that have learned over the years, and going verse by verse expounding on the text.

May God give you the increase if you desire to know more about Spiritual Maturity; and go explore the bible and talk to God ask Him to help you understand and may He strenghten your faith as your grow and mature in your own walk.

Mark 4:
26 And he said, So is the kingdom of God, as if a man should cast seed into the ground;
Verse 26: And Jesus said.

So is the kingdom of God - (The spirit of God/Holy Spirit/Spirit of Christ - (Colossians 1:13))

As ~ So the kingdom of God is as if a man ~ Should cast seed into the ground (Jesus Christ came to plant and water his disciples in trusting in Him, and the Father in heaven, as Jesus Christ taught his disciples all about having faith, and the holy spirit finally came upon them and they realized the truth, and all the disciples - judas +paul - went out and preached to all the tribes of Israel.

27 And should sleep, and rise night and day, and the seed should spring and grow up, he knoweth not how.
Verse 27 :And should sleep ~ (Stay spiritually dead for a moment then rise night and day after word to life through faith.)

Rise night and day - Rise from darkness into light ~ And the seed.

And the seed; (planted faith rooted faith in trust in the Lord Jesus Christ - and the Father).

Should spring up new life ~ (our old lifestyle shall be changed by the word of God renewing your mind and renewing your heart towards heavenly things that are pure. (Philippians 4:8)

He know not how ~ (Only by understanding the holy spirit) ?

28 For the earth bringeth forth fruit of herself; first the blade, then the ear, after that the full corn in the ear.
Verse 28 : For the earth bring forth fruit of herself; Fire the blade, then ear, then that full corn in the ear. (Jesus Christ is speaking earthly terms here; earth brings forth fruit : (My assumption here is )

Since Jesus Christ talking in earthly terms to (his disciples at that time) to understand spiritually would be like of hearing of God and then becoming a little bit more open to it, then progressing you become established in your God-given faith and you trust God and the Lord Jesus Christ and you become mature in your faith and walk with God ~ And in your walk your life will bring forth fruits of the spirit which produces Love ~ That is from God, through the Lord Jesus Christ.

29 But when the fruit is brought forth, immediately he putteth in the sickle, because the harvest is come.
Verse 29: Also relating to the disciples; they would maintain to encourage and strengthen those who were weak in their faith, pray for those who persecuted them, and prayed for their enemies. Anything the Disciples asked for in prayer those things would be given of what was needed such as stronger faith, trusting in God, having doubts and needed to be built up in the faith, and encouraged about God does love them and does Care about people.

But when the harvest is right ~ Death comes from the sickle of going back home to God after this life here and to go on spiritually with God in the Kingdom heavenly Jerusalem (My opinion here ~ All I know is Revelation 22) This is what the last part means to me but that doesn't mean I am right.

1 Corinthians 2: 6

6 Howbeit we speak wisdom among them that are perfect: yet not the wisdom of this world, nor of the princes of this world, that come to nought:

Verse 6: Paul is writing to mixed Gentile, and Jewish believers ~ Telling them; They are speaking wisdom them who are (mature) perfect:

Paul is explaining also that : He is not speaking of the wisdom of the world,

Paul is also saying is not Speaking what the wisdom of the princes of this world;

7 But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory:

Verse 7: But ~ Paul is saying : We (believers) speak the wisdom of God in a mystery; even hidden wisdom ; which God ordained before the world unto ` (The apostles and first church brides glory) ~ Also for the entire glory of all mankind to be saved by the Lord Jesus Christ that all sins are paid for and people can have an active relationship with the Father today)

8 Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.

Verse 8: Paul goes on to say : Paul is speaking in the wisdom of God; which none of the princes of this world knew:

For if they had known it ~ They would have not crucified the Lord of Glory.

Who is the Lord of glory? The Lord Jesus Christ ~ We have all fallen short of the glory of God. Who is the glory of God? But the Son of God isn't that the Fathers Glory ~ Whom was able to please Gods anger by paying the price of sin once and for all.

9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.

Verse 9: Faith comes by hearing the truth of the word of God. What does God got in store for you if you turn towards Him? And Love God and Love Others?

1 Corinthians 8:8-13

King James Version

8 But meat commendeth us not to God: for neither, if we eat, are we the better; neither, if we eat not, are we the worse.
Verse 8: Meat commended us not to God. (Flesh ~ can not even be in the presence of God.) (Spiritual is better.)

9 But take heed lest by any means this liberty of yours become a stumblingblock to them that are weak.
Verse 9: But take heed ~

Lest by any means this liberty (Your liberty and freedom in Christ Jesus and with having peace justified by faith on the Lord. We can have peace with God.

However, be careful to use your liberty and freedom that you have ~ Because you are still responsible for your own actions; even though you have freedom by and through Christ to live by the spirit; which brings forth fruits of love.

~ That you do not use your liberty to become a stumblingblock to those who are weak in the faith ~ So be a mature spiritually minded in Christ Jesus ~ Think of others, in think about your own actions ~ are they causing a stumbling block in someones life? Even in a persons life that stumbling blocks in life can lead you astray from staying spiritually minded?

Be encouraged to keep praying and stay strong in the faith. Trust God and the Lord Jesus Christ to be there in your life, and that they Love you and desire to help you in the struggles in life you have, and to have victory in Christ Jesus by the spirit.

10 For if any man see thee which hast knowledge sit at meat in the idol's temple, shall not the conscience of him which is weak be emboldened to eat those things which are offered to idols;
Verse 10: For if any man see you

Which has knowledge - Pertaining to God, and spiritual knowledge

Sit at a meat in the idol's temple ~ If you having knowing of God: are seen being sitting down inside of a idol temple: (If you wanted to worship God you could do it anywhere as long as you are were worshiping in spirit and in truth; loving God and loving your neighbor.)

Shall not the conscience of the weak believer ~ Who sees the one sitting in the idols temple; eating meats. Go and do the same thing yet the weak believer would be encouraged todo eat things which are offered to idols.

(Say may this weak believer only comes by in certain times, and then see someone doing something else that makes the other weaker believer encouraged to do the same things which are not good?)

11 And through thy knowledge shall the weak brother perish, for whom Christ died?
Verse 11: And through your knowledge shall the weak brother perish ~ If a person is given the ability to have knowledge of God and the Lord Jesus Christ, and learn about the human mind, heart, and thought process, along with the spiritual side of things.

~ Shall the weak brother perish if He goes back to his old ways; for whom Christ died for because of the weakness of the brothers faith will suffer because of no encouragement,.

12 But when ye sin so against the brethren, and wound their weak conscience, ye sin against Christ.
Verse 12: But when you sin against the brother = When you hate, slander, defraud, lie, steal, manipulate, and then you hurt the weak persons conscience that it is okay to do these things you sin again Christ because you are not being loving or kind to your neighbour.

13 Wherefore, if meat make my brother to offend, I will eat no flesh while the world standeth, lest I make my brother to offend.
Verse 13: Some people need spiritual milk, not spiritual meat, because meat really can offend people. ~ And sometimes it is better off just giving spiritual milk and encouraging spiritual growth into maturity, least you offend a brother and they are wounded and are weaken in the faith rather than encouraged.

1 Corinthians 10:14-15

King James Version

14 Wherefore, my dearly beloved, flee from idolatry.

15 I speak as to wise men; judge ye what I say.

Verse 14: Paul is requesting the people in 1 Corinthians mix of Gentile and Jewish believers to flee from idolatry

Verse 15: Paul says: Am speaking to you both as wise men; and you judge what I say.

You be the judge of what I say says Paul to the Corinthians.

1 Corinthians 13:11-13

King James Version

11 When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.
Verse 11: Paul is saying : When was a spiritual babe, I spake as a spiritual babe (a child how a normal child acts. Children can be selfish, greedy, malice, hateful, towards one another, and it is all learned from our heritage of being human beings.

12 For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.
Verse 12: Not sure ; For now we see through a glass;

When we are not believers we can only see through a glass, darkly; but then

as you move closer to the glass, you see face to face the reality of God and the Lord Jesus Christ? :

Now which in part is known by Paul ~ But then shall Paul even known as I am also known? A child of God, His identity is in Christ Jesus - believers?

13 And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.
Verse 13: What abidens now is faith, hope love, and these three; but the greatest of these is love. Love is the greatest, and is the sign of maturity spiritually through and by Christ Jesus with-in you.

Ephesians 4:13-15

King James Version

13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:
Verse 13: Paul writing to the Ephesians : Till we all come in to the unity of the faith

Unity of the faith ~ All - > Love God and Love Others

And all the unity of knowledge -> The Truth about the Son of God

Unto a perfect (mature) faith (spiritual man) -> unto the measure of the stature

of becoming conformed to the image of Christ by staying in faith and trust in God, and allowing the spirit to flow through you by being spiritually mature.

14 That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;
Verse 14: When you hit this knowledge and are no more a spiritual babe in Christ Jesus and tossed around by every wind of knowledge ; spirit of man knowledge; worldly knowledge; what ever crafty thing people are telling you, that gets you away from Christ, trying to deceive you and take you away from the truth of the Lord Jesus Christ and God.

15 But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:

Verse 15: What is important is speaking of truth in love

May grow up into Christ in all things ~

Because Christ is the head of the church and the body of believers who is the Chief priest.

Peter tells us the steps to spiritual maturity.

2 Peter 1:5-7
2 Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord, 3 as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue, 4 by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

5 But also for this very reason, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue, to virtue knowledge, 6 to knowledge self-control, to self-control perseverance, to perseverance godliness, 7 to godliness brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness love. 8 For if these things are yours and abound, you will be neither barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9 For he who lacks these things is shortsighted, even to blindness, and has forgotten that he was cleansed from his old sins.

10 Therefore, brethren, be even more diligent to make your call and election sure, for if you do these things you will never stumble; 11 for so an entrance will be supplied to you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

This is essentially correct. Only the seed is the focus, not us, and the seed represents the word. It means we are responsible before God to grow in revelation concerning interpretation of the scriptures.

Matthew, you are quoting a LOT of scripture in this thread. It would take significant time to deal with it all.

As time permits, I'll try and share with you on the rest.

Thank you for sharing CharismaticLady: This also leading to spiritual maturity; by giving all diligence , adding to your faith ; virture; to knowledge to

knowledge (by the word of God - increasing in spiritual knowledge - Spiritual Wisdom from the Lord Jesus Christ) - to self-control (by the spirit), and allowing (spirit to have perseverance) -

to godliness ( to have devotion towards God ~ To Devotion towards God - that leads by the spirit ~

Brotherly Kindness to Brotherly kindness ~ Love.

The more growing in these things, the less unfruitful you will be in the knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ!

May God give the increase and the understanding.

This is essentially correct. Only the seed is the focus, not us, and the seed represents the word. It means we are responsible before God to grow in revelation concerning interpretation of the scriptures.

You are right HiddeninHim ; This was a lot of work to Go through. There are still more scriptures that need to go through not done yet, got tired last night and just posted the work done. May God give the increase to anyone who comes here to learn about the scriptures and ponder and ask God to help them in their knowledge and understanding if anyone desire to know anything about Spiritual Maturity.

I believe the seed represents the Holy Spirit.

This would seem to make sense, Jesus Christ was the man who came to spread the seed of the coming of the Kingdom of God ~ Kingdom of God is as a mustard seed, but if you tend to that seed, and allow God to water it, and the Lord Jesus Christ to feed the seed nutrients ~ The faith - seed of the spirit with-in a believer starts to grow.

Thank you both for adding your comments and insights.

Have you ever heard of this topic before when it comes to Christianity and learning from the bible? Have you ever heard about it taught in a church somewhere?

Paul defines spiritual maturity as being "perfect", and becoming "the fullness of the stature of Christ'.
This is simply to become perfected within your "working out your salvation".
Its to exist here. Hebrews 13:9

Hello @Behold thank you for commenting.

Looking at Ephesians 4:13

A perfect man - a complete man - a mature man

13 until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.

13 till we may all come to the unity of the faith and of the recognition of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to a measure of stature of the fulness of the Christ,

Strong's Concordance
teleios: having reached its end, i.e. complete, by ext. perfect
Original Word: τέλειος, α, ον
Part of Speech: Adjective
Transliteration: teleios
Phonetic Spelling: (tel'-i-os)
Definition: having reached its end, complete, perfect
Usage: perfect, (a) complete in all its parts, (b) full grown, of full age, (c) specially of the completeness of Christian character.
HELPS Word-studies
Cognate: 5046 téleios (an adjective, derived from 5056 /télos, "consummated goal") – mature (consummated) from going through the necessary stages to reach the end-goal, i.e. developed into a consummating completion by fulfilling the necessary process (spiritual journey). See 5056 (telos).

[This root (tel-) means "reaching the end (aim)." It is well-illustrated with the old pirate's telescope, unfolding (extending out) one stage at a time to function at full-strength (capacity effectiveness).]

Philippians 3:10-15
King James Version

10 That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;

Verse 10: Paul is saying that He may know the Lord Jesus Christ - The power of His resurrection and the fellowship of his sufferings and being conformable unto his dead.

Paul is saying here that He makes sure to know who the Lord Jesus Christ is - understanding the power of his resurrection, understanding of the fellowship of suffering for Christ Jesus ~ Being conformed to the image of Christ by the spirit by being baptized in Jesus Christ death, yet being risen again spiritually. (dying to the flesh - living by the spirit) (Spiritual Maturity) Knowing the Father knowing the Lord Jesus Christ.

11 If by any means I might attain unto the resurrection of the dead.

Verse 11: Paul mentions if by any means I might attain unto the resurrection of the dead. (After life resurrection - attain through faith and trusting in knowing the Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ ~ having a healthy relationship with the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

12 Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus.

Verse 12: Paul mentions that not as though he has already attained the resurrection of the dead - but living towards God and the Lord Jesus Christ as though he will receive being raised again from the dead at the end of life.

Paul also mentions that he is not either perfect (glorified body (Resurrection - no longer in the flesh). ~~ But that Paul follows after the Lord Jesus Christ, that if He may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus.

13 Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,
Verse 13: Brothers/Sisters: I count not myself to have apprehended ; but this one thing I do

Forgetting the things which are behind and reaching forwards unto the things which are laid before ~ The future resurrection and hope to go and be with the Lord Jesus Christ and the Father at the end of life while living to have love for God, and Love for Others and encouraging people to stay in faith, and to continue having a relationship with God.

14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
Verse 14: Paul says He presses forward towards the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

15 Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded: and if in any thing ye be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you.
Verse 15: Let us there for, as many be mature, and be heavenly minded; and if in anything contrary towards heavenly minded - God shall reveal this even to you.

Hebrews 5:10-14
King James Version

10 Called of God an high priest after the order of Melchisedec.
Verse 10: Jesus Christ was called of God as an High Priest after the order of Melchisedec?

11 Of whom we have many things to say, and hard to be uttered, seeing ye are dull of hearing.
Verse 11: Of whom we have many things to say, ~ things that are hard to be uttered ~ Seeing you are all dull of hearing - Talking the the Jews - Hebrews

12 For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat.
Verse 12: For when the time you ought to be teachers

You have need that one has to teach you again ~~

which be the first principles of the oracles of God ~ And

have become such as that they need milk and not strong meat.

~ (So some of the people here in the Hebrews - Jews book -> Have become hard of hearing, and the many things they have to say about Christ Jesus -> Will needed to be given with milk

Instead of strong meat -> the tougher works of scripture ??

13 For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe.
Verse 13: Babes in Christ use milk are unskilful in the word of righteousness for He/She is a babe in Christ.

(Encouragement - uplifting - patience, kindness, mercy, forgiveness, is most certainly needed when it comes to dealing with babes in Christ)

14 But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.

Verse 14: Strong meat is for those who spiritually mature to handle the meat. Even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to

discern both good and evil.

13 until we all reach unity in the faith

See that part?

"all reach the unity of the faith"?

This will never happen on a Forum, because you have too many heretics allowed to teach false self righteous Cross denying opinions.

Its impossible to root them all out, as when you do, the Devil will send in more.... so you just have to work with what is available, and help those who can be helped.

Also, we have denominations for the same reason. = no UNITY of the Faith. No AGREEMENT within theological circles, except within the denominations themselves.

How do you spot a heretic?
Just find out if they believe they can lose their salvation., as this is 100% proof that is never wrong.

Hello @Behold

The truth of the matter is to understand that.

Human nature by itself is selfish and it hates anything that has to do with the spirit. Human nature is that of our flesh. Every person has a soul: Mind/will/emotion -: Thoughts/Choices/Emotions - Everyone is born having a body (of flesh). The thing that covers our body our mind, our heart, and our conscience, and the body reacts by our own choice when we will it to do something.

The scripture Ephesians 4:13 until we all come into the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ;

Until we all come into a unity of the faith ~ (Regardless of forum/internet/social media) ~

Unity of the faith ~ Faith is a persuasion from God by and through the promises offered through the Lord Jesus Christ who is the Son of God, who lived a life on this earth, died, and was buried and was raised again by the Father. That anyone who shall believe in the Son of God shall have life.

Unity ~ Unity in coming to knowledge of these things regarding the faith -

henotes: oneness, unity
Original Word: ἑνότης, ητος, ἡ
Part of Speech: Noun, Feminine
Transliteration: henotes
Phonetic Spelling: (hen-ot-ace')
Definition: to adjure
Usage: oneness, unity, unanimity.
HELPS Word-studies
1775 henótēs (from heis, "one") – oneness (unity), especially the God-produced unity (oneness) between believers – i.e. the harmony from sharing likeness of nature with the Lord (used only in Eph 4:3,13).
and of the knowledge of the Son of God,

And unto a 'spiritually mature' believer ~ unto being conformed to the measure

of the stature of the fullness of Christ. (becoming the likeness of Christ by allow him to live through us).

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The question is ; Are these things true for you in your life. Are you understanding of these topics, which means anyone who has questions about these things.
What is the truth? Except to learn and dig and find understanding with trusting and allowing God to lead you and help you in your life.
A human being who is a believer who has confidence in God and the Lord being in their life, and understand they do receive help when they ask for it when it comes to the spiritual needs - love; patience, forgiveness, prayer, forbearance, kindness, goodness.
Who trust in God will see these things come true they more they trust God, even see the scripture that talks about these things to allow God to increases their faith and allow change into the likeness and image of Christ by allowing Christ to live through us by the spirit, and to put to death ~ the sinful nature ~ from us which is only done by the Lord Jesus Christ from with-in us, not by our own power but the power of God, from the glory of God who is the Lord Jesus Christ.
