Our eternal life is depending on what?

Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.

In John 17:3 Jesus states to his followers: This is eternal life. That they know you, the only true God. Jesus desires for his followers to know the true and living God. This is part of the eternal life.

And Jesus Christ, whom the Father had sent. This is also part of the eternal life. Our source of life, comes from knowing God and what he is about and his character and in the same estimation in regards to also know Jesus Christ.

This is an intimate relationship between you and that Father - in which you are supplied with the Holy Spirit, and the spirit of Christ, as you grow and get to know God and Jesus.

With the use of the Bible,
In Christ,
Matthew Gallagher

Hi Matt, just that sir, and it is dependent upon obedience just as it was for Adam. Eternal life is conditional, and it actually means that you will not die, as long as you do not rebel against God.

And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent. - John 17:3

The Living Bible is good: “This is the way to have eternal life—by knowing you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, the one you sent to earth!” In other words, our initial conversion is not sufficient to get eternal life. We must spend however long we have here in the flesh getting to know God and Jesus, which means knowing God’s Word and obeying. We must learn as much about their characters as we can. Emphasis: We must know God (and Jesus Christ, whom God sent). Even if we lived forever, we still would not fully know God; that is, it would take an eternity to know God because He is so great. There are so many facets of His love, power, wisdom, and justice that just as an eternity never ends, so God’s attributes can never be fully plumbed. God’s qualities, depth of character, etc., will always be on the increase. (Certain translations stress this thought.) Some of Jesus’ simplest statements are the hardest to fathom. “O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out!” (Rom. 11:33).

Our eternal life is depending on what?

Now this is eternal life:

Jesus Himself, is Eternal Life.
If you have Him, in you, then you have Eternal life.

Jesus said....I am THE Way, THE Truth, and THE Life".......and that "Life" is eternal life.
Jesus said...>"all that believe in ME, i give unto them...ETERNAL LIFE, and they shall never perish".

So, "Christ in you, the hope of Glory" is Eternal Life in you, if you are born again.

Jesus said : ""I am THE Resurrection and THE Life".....So, to have Jesus in you, is to have "resurrection and eternal life in you">... and that is why you will go to HEAVEN, if you are born again, and why you wont if you are just water baptized.
