we shouldn't judge or be heavy handed in our 'directing' a person towards the better way.

Correct, "what movies we watch" is nothing we need to be too dogmatic against but should be helping fellow Christians be holy. We Christians are commanded to be holy in 1 Peter 1:13-17.

When you say “Judging” you imply we are condemning those who do such thing, that is not the case. Everyone one is accountable directly to God for their lives, helping others to live a more sanctified life is loving, not judging, and we are commanded to do in verses such as Gal 6:1.

Unrelated to "What movies we watch", there are some sins that lead to hell such as those listed in 1 Corinth 6: 9-10. If you take a “love, not judge” mentality towards those sins and say nothing at all then you are hating, not loving. It is not loving to allow someone to walk into hell unwarned.

As a side note, The church does have a responsibility to judge it's congregation and to purge out sin (1 Corith. 5:3-7, 1Tim 5:19-20), but that's a little different than us as individuals.
