Wow, check out these temps for Liawanee, Tasmania this morning, these observations are recorded every half hour but it actually got down to -14.2c there, new record low temp for the state Tasmania, beating the previous record of -13cScreenshot_2020-08-07-10-33-31-21.png

The "Snowy Mountains", maybe? are they part of the Great Dividing Range? (Those are ones I've heard of, anyway...)

Nah these are the bigger mountains in the eastern part of the Yarra Ranges area, the Snowy Mountains are even bigger of course though, the Yarra River is below these mountains

@Josho Sounds like it's all in the State of Victoria. I would love to visit, but it's probably a bit late in life now. I think the idea that some ppl have that Australia is basically its coastline is a bit of a myth; all those mountains, all the vast Outback, all the deep red earth and sun glowing on Ayer's Rock/Uluru and the Olgas... :)

Ye the great divide runs down the whole east cost and in the south east corners are our biggest hills at about 2,000 meters
So basically any mountain here is in the Great Divide

Oh sorry haha, missed that bit, those aren't the snowy mountains but yes they are a part of the Great Dividing Range.

@Josho I read that planes decades back have crashed in the Great Dividing Range and haven't been found until decades afterwards; they are that rugged and remote...
