When is judgment day to determine where we go ?

Is it everyday when someone dies ?
Are we placed in purgatory or some spirit world waiting for a one day judgment day finality ?
    If partially judged:
Are the souls in hell and heaven going to be judged again at the great white throne ?
1 Peter 4:17 Judgment must begin in the house of God ? then what ?
    Judged before we die ?

Can you be eternally judged before you die ?
Like blaspheme against the Holy Ghost. Judged right then and it become the final judgment.

Will all those in hell be judged again to go into the Lake of Fire ? if so what's the purpose ?

    Your thoughts
    How does it work ?

For many this is true but for those who have understanding, they understand that the decisions we make while we are alive and are recorded in the books of judgement will determine whether or not we will die the second death. What do the books record our acts? The books record how well we keep the statues of God and His heart in our heart for blessing the people around us with acts of charitable kindness.

    Shalom

Is it because we don't know when God will finally judge us ?
    It could be now or
when ever we die when ever that is or
we don't know when the great white throne judgment day ?

Can we could be judged anytime ?

David this was the response that I expected from you.

As a best guess, how about the year 3070 AD unless you are in the first resurrection and then that would be around the year 2045 AD give or take a few years either way around those dates and that will be in our near future if our heads have been separated from our necks/bodies for what we believe.

    Shalom

PS: - David, the question really is when will the wicked be dispatched into the Lake of Fire which is, according to the Book of revelation, the second death, and this of course occurs at the very end of the next age, when ever that will occur.

Now for me that is pretty precise from where I sit.

There was judgment day that did happen in different times in the past
The Flood - only eight were saved
    Sodom and Gomorrah
Jerusalem - how many times ? more to come ?

    future:
Coming judgment on the Beast Kingdom
    2nd resurrection group
Kingdom saints judged before caught up to meet him in the air.

    So here a question ????
When ever God's wrath destroy someone at any given time, are they eternally judged forever then ?

    Consider this verse:

"And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:" Heb 9:27

The judgment is "after", which refers to death, but..? Immediately, years, a millennium, or some other period of time later? Does it matter? For us, once we have died as men of flesh, we have done our deeds, evil or good, according to God's judgment. Is time something that matters to God, or is it only a man thing? Will it still be a man thing when he dies or will it be for him the end of time?

"And sware by him that liveth for ever and ever, who created heaven, and the things that therein are, and the earth, and the things that therein are, and the sea, and the things which are therein, that there should be time no longer:" Rev 10:6

Who is this referring to ? the OT saints = trying to make sense in the message before it.

    Can't be the ungodly
Psalm 1:5 5 Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.

Sodom and Gomorrah was judged before there death, they were living in a ungodly ways.

There is a day of judgement, that is coming on an unknown day.
There is a way to avoid an adverse judgement and the penalty that follows such a judgement.

    When that judgement is irrelevant.

I do think its talking about believers.
So when a believer hears the word of God or his commandments then that person is responsible to respond to it.
How ever that response is, God can determine the judgment - life or death.
So judgment does starts in the house of God when we first hear it.

    my take on it

if you read the full chapter he is talking about being tried
16But if you suffer as a Christian, do not be ashamed, but glorify God that you bear that name. 17For it is time for judgment to begin with the family of God; and if it begins with us, what will the outcome be for those who disobey the gospel of God? 18And, “If it is hard for the righteous to be saved, what will become of the ungodly and the sinner?”

there is a judgement .what i am saying in this chapter he is talking about going through fiery trials / suffering for christ .the real judgent is found in REV,
The Great White Throne Judgment --the final
    judgment
11 Then I saw a great white throne and one seated on it. Earth and heaven fled from his presence, and no place was found for them.12 I also saw the dead, the great and the small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. 1 3 Then the sea gave up the dead that were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead that were in them; each one was judged according to their works. . 14 Death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire. 15 And anyone whose name was not found written in the book of life was thrown into the lake of fire.

there is a judgement of works tried by fire in 1cor 3

Judgement Day, the day that determines where we go (heaven or hell), is a one time event, in the end time, at the culmination of all things.
No one knows the date, but, it has not happened yet, in part, or whole.
There is no purgatory, and no one is in heaven or paradise at the moment.

Not until Christ returns, will the end times begin, and I'm not sure at this point, if there is a pre-millenial judgement for those who are in Christ at his coming, and then another, after the millenium?
Eschatology is not my forté, it may be someone else's on the site.

    Thanks for the inputs..

It is a wonder if the white throne Judgment day is for everybody at one time event.
It would seem that the first resurrection group are judged for a new body and eternal life, then why would they be judged again ?
Just a thought here, the people during the millennium will have to be judged and the second resurrection group, that
judgment day may be just for them.

You all do err in your understanding, because you take Heb. 9:27 out of context, and then run off with it into some distant future!

    Heb. 9
[26] For then must he [Christ] often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself.
[27] And, as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment
    > Paul then concludes WHAT that first "appointed" judgment was, and then that second judgment, which came for our restoration and salvation.
[28] So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.

The FIRST judgment "appointed" came through Adam, being that of physical and spiritual death. That death is our mortal flesh dies, plus having no hope of eternal life, as so stated in Genesis 2:17 and Genesis 3:22-24.
From that day forward, all of mankind has been under that judgment of being physically born as "condemned already, and is STILL in effect, even though Christ has come and obtained the victory over death, by HIS Resurrection from the dead unto New and Eternal Life.
So then, if verse 27 is speaking of the first death, what is "but after the judgment" meaning?
It is saying AFTER the "appointed" judgment of men to die, CAME another judgment, WHO IS CHRIST, only for this time, it is not unto death, but rather UNTO LIFE!!
John 3[18] He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, BECAUSE he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

By Adam was God's judgment of death unto us, so then by Jesus is God's judgment of Eternal Life unto us, by the Gift of His Holy Spirit!!

You don't believe that the judgment of God through Christ is now?? Then see this:
    Romans 8;8-9 and 1 John 5:13

Know that through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and by His Gift of the Holy Spirit to you, that you do now HAVE eternal life. We are NOW "partakers of the divine nature", waiting for the Lord Himself to return from Heaven and redeem us unto Himself.
    2 Peter 1:4

Yes, I would agree with your uncertainty. I would think that the White Throne Judgement Day is for everybody also. But the concept of the Millenium throws me off a bit, as to both, the chronology of Judgement Day ( 2 events or 1), and who and how many will be at the event(s)?
My main point was that, there is no one in heaven or paradise until Christ's return. One is not judged, before Judgement Day.

    WOW! Are you wrong!
But I suppose that is what one gets for eating all their "religious pablum".

John 3:18 and Romans 8:9. Please digest it, and know that anyone who DOES NOT have His Holy Spirit, CANNOT be resurrected ever!!
    There is NO literal WTJ.
    WHY?
The JUDGMENT FOR the Gift of Eternal Life has already come- again John 3:18.
Whoever does not participate in it, through belief in Christ, shall remain condemned already!

Wow! Words can't express how utterly deficient and incompetent your exegesis is. You bring one verse to make your point (Romans 8:9 proves nothing)? And that one verse (John 3:18), you take completely out of context (God knows who are his, immediately and from the beginning of time)?
    Were you joking?

    1 Corinthians 4:5
5 Therefore judge nothing before the appointed time; wait until the Lord comes. He will bring to light what is hidden in darkness and will expose the motives of the heart. At that time each will receive their praise from God.

    2 Corinthians 5:10
10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each of us may receive what is due us for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad.

    2 Peter 2:4
    4 For if God did not spare angels when they sinned, but sent them to hell, putting them in chains of darkness to be held for judgment;

    Acts 17:31
31 For he has set a day when he will judge the world with justice by the man he has appointed. He has given proof of this to everyone by raising him from the dead.”

    Ecclesiastes 12:14
14 For God will bring every deed into judgment, including every hidden thing, whether it is good or evil.

    Hebrews 9:27
27 Just as people are destined to die once, and after that to face judgment,

    John 12:48
48 There is a judge for the one who rejects me and does not accept my words; the very words I have spoken will condemn them at the last day.

    Matthew 12:36
36 But I tell you that everyone will have to give account on the day of judgment for every empty word they have spoken.

    Matthew 24:36
36 “But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son,but only the Father.

    Psalm 96:13
13 Let all creation rejoice before the LORD, for he comes, he comes to judge the earth. He will judge the world in righteousness and the peoples in his faithfulness.

    Romans 2:16
16 This will take place on the day when God judges people’s secrets through Jesus Christ, as my gospel declares.

    Revelation 20:11-15
11 Then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it. The earth and the heavens fled from his presence, and there was no place for them. 12 And I saw the dead, great and small,
standing before the throne, and books were opened. Another book was opened, which is the book of life. The dead were judged according to what they had done as recorded in the books.
13 The sea gave up the dead that were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead that were in them, and each person was judged according to what they had done.
14 Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. The lake of fire is the second death. 15 Anyone whose name was not found written in the book of life was thrown into the lake of fire.
