.
†. 1Cor 16:22 . . If anyone love not the Lord, let him be accursed.
Love for the Bible's Christ is measured in accordance with one's compliance
with his teachings.
†. John 14:23-24 . . If anyone loves me, he will keep my word . . . he who
does not love me does not keep my words
Steve Jobs' religion of choice was Buddhism; a spiritual philosophy invented
by a man named Siddhartha Guatama; a.k.a. the Buddha; which is a rub
because according to the testimony of the Bible's Christ as an expert witness
in all matters pertaining to the hereafter: one's choice of spiritual master is
what ultimately decides everybody's fate.
†. John 14:6 . . Jesus said unto him: I am the path, and the truth; no man
comes unto the Father but by me.
Steve Jobs' chosen path was not Christ. He chose instead Siddhartha
Guatama's Four Nobel Truths ( a.k.a. Pativedhanana) which, in a nutshell,
are life-instructions for escaping Samsara-- defined as a potentially never
ending cycle of rebirths commonly known as reincarnation.
Siddhartha Guatama believed that when someone is reborn, the person does
not come back because in Buddhism there is no soul that continues to exist
beyond the demise of one's organic body; ergo: the original self, that once
lived; no longer exists after death.
Siddhartha Guatama's reincarnation is not a resurrection; but rather; a
rearrangement of the karmic matter that was once a particular individual.
Simply put, "karmic matter" is like the pieces and parts that go into
assembling a chariot; which when dismantled, the pieces and parts can be
utilized to construct some other conveyance; with very possibly another
gender too; which means that if Steve Jobs is back among us as rearranged
karma; then he/she just might be a little Indonesian baby girl destined to
work for peanuts in one of Phil Knight's offshore Nike sweat shops making
athletic shoes and sports apparel selling for big bucks to Chinese consumers.
Or he could even now be a baby fur seal about to get its head bashed in by
an Inuit hunter.
Belief in reincarnation is a very grave threat to Siddhartha Guatama's
followers because the Lord's resurrection is one of the essential elements of
Christianity that must be accepted in order to escape the wrath of God.
(1Cor 15:1-4)
Christians are often reluctant to judge unbelievers like Steve Jobs and they
typically cite Mtt 7:1-5 for an excuse. But Paul isn't asking Christians to
critique Steve Jobs' conduct; no, he's demanding that Christians regard
people as condemned to hell for following Siddhartha Guatama instead of
Christ-- and this is not an option: it's an order.
†. 1Cor 14:37 . . If any man think himself to be a prophet, or spiritual, let
him acknowledge that the things that I write unto you are the
commandments of the Lord.
†. 1Ths 4:1-2 . .We beseech you, brethren, and exhort you by the Lord
Jesus, that as ye have received of us how ye ought to walk and to please
God, so ye would abound more and more. For ye know what commandments
we gave you by the Lord Jesus.
