Where time begins is known as the International Dateline.
Supposedly it begins somewhere east of New Zealand
It goes up through the Bering Straits but is not a straight line.
I think it zig zags around some islands so that the islands don't get split up into different days.
So east of the Dateline starts a new day, but it's a day behind west of the line.
How does that work?
If you stand above the north pole and look down, you will see the earth spin counterclockwise.
Imagine that?
Never thought of it like that.
Let's see, if we are in an airplane and we fly from New York to London, we move 6 hours into the future.
But if we go from Hawaii to Japan, and we go backwards into a new day ahead of us.
Reverse the procedure and you go back in time.
Most interesting is if you leave Japan and go to Hawaii, you keep going forward in time until you are finally a day in the past.

Superman took advantage of this phenomena and sped westward using the IDL to go back days in the past......to the time before his girlfriend died...

When I was a kid I often wondered if I could travel fast enough if I could travel backward to when my gran was young.
I was obsessed with kids books where someone went through some door and came out the other side back in the 1600's etc etc :D

Haha!! Oh Yay!! :D

I am guessing that you mean traveling backward at speed....and not walking through a door and finding I am in the 1600's ... LOL :D

Wow. What a thinker!

I was always amazed by two things:

1. If you go into outer space and come back after years of travelling fast, you'd find everybody you knew dead, but you'd still be young.

2. The w.c. water, when flushed, spins the other way (counter clockwise) south of the equator.

Okay, I'm sorry that you get the feeling that I'm saying bad things.
I apologize.
I didn't mean to make it sound that way.
I'll try to make it up to everyone somehow.

Suppose you have a flight between Paris and New York, but the US hasn't switched off of daylight savings time yet, how long is your flight?

Trick question, you missed the flight because daylight savings is stupid.

Oh, I would never have gotten that.
Trick questions are beyond me

not at all, didn't i say it wasn't "bad?"and if i called it horrible anyway, it would only be the same thing; my opinion. A marker of me.

more like a psych method, leave something unstated to compel a reader to fill in the blank, that kind of thing. Iow for all i know Scotty did beam Him down, ok, there isn't a wrong answer for that.
