Curtis there are Antichrists and false Christ. John also went on to say:
And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.
The Jews are looking for their messiah. He will be the false messiah that Christ talks about. Learn the difference and you’ll see. Don’t let your arrogance blind you.

What’s wrong with my statement? The scriptures have declared that Antichrist will come. Those against Christ. Also the scriptures tell us false Christ’s will come to. As you stated false messiahs will come. There will be one who will exalt himself above God.

The Apostles may have expected it in their days, yet that's not the timing the Bible prophecies show it would happen, even in Acts 1 when they asked Jesus if He was then going to restore the kingdom of Israel, just prior to His ascent to The Father in a cloud.
Paul didn’t expect Christ to return in his life time. Read 2 Thessalonians. Where the people who sat around waiting for Christ return. Read the scriptures that say Jerusalem would be destroyed and the Jews would be scattered among the nations. Also know the timing of the revelation when it was written.

Apostle Paul often spoke in his Epistles to the Churches about Christ's coming in a way that it could come to pass in their lifetime, because even he didn't know the date of Christ's return. This is why James would say things also like this...

James 5:7-8
7 Be patient therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, and hath long patience for it, until he receive the early and latter rain.
8 Be ye also patient; stablish your hearts: for the coming of the Lord draweth nigh.

KJV

The following question Christ's Apostles asked Him after His resurrection shows they still expected Him to restore Israel in their lifetime...

Acts 1:6-7
6 When they therefore were come together, they asked of Him, saying, "Lord, wilt Thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel?"
7 And He said unto them, "It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in His own power."
KJV
