Forgiveness is in the heart of God. Our hearts need to allow this to sink in and trust it.

Forgiveness is the essence of love.

In Genesis 3:8 we see Adam and Eve first hiding from God after disobeying him and before being admonished. Why did they hide? Were they afraid? Why? God had never been strict with them before. They had no reason to suspect his wrath. Yet they still hid. I find that very interesting.

Perhaps forgiveness is not something humans need from God, but something humans need for God. In other words, God's hand is out. There is no judgment. No matter who we are, no matter what we do, we can take his hand. The only reason we don't is because our guilt convinces us that God won't receive us. Like Adam and Eve we hide.

Jesus' life, death and resurrection are such a powerful message that it breaks through our thick skulls, so to speak, and shows us God's love in the most dramatic way possible. Jesus himself prayed for God to forgive us while we crucified him (Luke 23:34). Stephen prayed the same while we stoned him (Acts of the Apostles 7:60). What will it take for us to realize that God loves us in a way beyond typical human expression of love?

I don't think God needed anything from Satan. That said, hiding behind subterfuge, misrepresentation and sophistication, Satan was unmasked for who and what his agenda is. It also revealed that God pushed to the limits of human and demonic cruelty was not in the least selfish as claimed by the Serpent.
God had to show us that Satan was a liar. It isn't what God needed - it was what we needed to see.

The purpose of Jesus was not so much as to be an example for us but rather and example of what the Father is to us.

The Bible indicates both Thinkr, Jesus is the best example for sure of learning about God's qualities, because those who have seen him, has seen Jehovah as well through those eyes of understanding.
