In the beginning we see God made the “fruit bearing trees”, each after His kind. And God saw the fruit bearing trees and said that it was “good”.
Genesis 1:11
And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the “fruit tree yielding fruit” after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so.
Genesis 1:12
And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree “yielding fruit”, whose seed was in itself, after his kind: and God saw that it was “good”.
Genesis 1:29
And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is “the fruit of a tree” yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.
Also In Genesis 2:8-9 we see God planted a garden, and out of the ground God made every tree that was pleasant to the sight, and “good for food”= good fruit bearing trees
We see no mention of “thorns or briers” until after man had sinned against God’s command, and after God “cursed the ground”.
Notice…
Genesis 3:17-19 17 And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: “cursed is the ground” for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life; 18 “Thorns also and thistles” shall it bring forth to thee; and thou shalt eat the herb of the field;
Jesus said in a parable “the enemy”is the one who sowed the bad seed….
Matthew 13:24-26 24 Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is likened unto a man which sowed good seed in his field: 25 But while men slept, “his enemy”came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way. 26 But when the blade was sprung up, and brought forth fruit, then appeared the tares also.”
Jesus explains who sowed the “good fruit bearing seed” and who sowed the evil seed…. Matthew 13:37- 38 “He answered and said unto them, He that sows the “good seed” is the Son of man; The field is the world; the “good seed” are the children of the Kingdom; but the tares are the children of the wicked one; The “enemy”that “sowed them” is “the Devil;”
Jesus said in Matthew 12:33
“Either “make” the tree good, and his fruit good; or else “make”the tree corrupt, and his fruit corrupt: for the tree is known by his fruit.”
So who “makes” and “plants” the good trees that bear good fruit?
Matthew 15:13
But he answered and said, Every plant, which my heavenly Father “hath not planted”, shall be rooted up.
The Lord plants trees of Righteousness….
Isaiah 61:3
To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called “trees of righteousness”, “the planting of the Lord”, that he might be glorified.”
Praise be to the Lord our God for planting, and making us good fruit bearing trees of Righteousness!
