If you are a Christian now and then reject and renounce Christ and become a Muslim, will you still be saved?

If our ETERNAL salvation could be lost, the life we receive through Christ when we have been born again of His Spirit would not be ETERNAL LIFE. We must understand, ETERNAL LIFE means to receive LIFE that shall NEVER END! Not even death can separate us from the love of God through Christ Jesus when we have been born again of Christ's Spirit. Born again Christians cannot keep themselves eternally saved. No! Rather we rely upon the power of the Spirit of Christ in us, who "works all things together for good to them that love God."

I think the problem you're having with this truth is that there are many who profess faith in Christ who have NOT been born again through the Spirit of Christ coming in us. They are those who will stand before the great white throne of God who believe the good works they did in their bodies of mortal flesh is why they are saved. But they will hear Christ say to them, "I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity." We cannot say we deserve reward for doing that which is our duty. Because we do not do good through our own power, but through the power of Christ's Spirit working in us.

Matthew 7:21-23 (KJV) Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
