I left the message from God today.
I hesitated for few years to deliver. I thought, I must become perfect first. But He demented.
You must become perfect first for what?
Doesn't the NT teach that only Jesus is perfect?
I'm not going to argue this...if you believe a person could be perfect....so be it.
Happily, the early church faced this very problem and realized that man was always going to sin.
Thus, John gives us a remedy.
Jesus gives us a remedy.
But, these days, we seem to make up our own personal theology.
1 John 1:8-9
8 If we say that we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves and the truth is not in us.
9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
1 John 2:1
1 My little children, I am writing these things to you so that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous;
John 20:22-23
22 And when He had said this, He breathed on them and said to them, "Receive the Holy Spirit.
23 "If you forgive the sins of any, their sins have been forgiven them; if you retain the sins of any, they have been retained."
Confession is the remedy.
