“When Jesus was reviled, Jesus did not revile in return; when Jesus suffered, Jesus did not threaten, but continued entrusting himself to God who judges justly” 1 Peter 2:3

What is the focus of Peters words here, which cause's us to consider the true battle which went down in Gethsemane and before the authorities?

There are a few things here to comment on.

The first is the implied understanding that it was possible for Jesus to revile when he suffered. Peter understood from his own failure how important it was that the Master not give in to his temptations. This leads us to understand that Jesus was tempted in all points like we are yet was without personal sin.

How did he overcome sins flesh?
