There are plenty of important people mentioned in the New Testament, but we have literally nothing written by them or about them. Or by their children. Why is that?
Instead, we have writings written by people never mentioned in the New Testament - Polycarp, Ignatius... who are said to be their disciples, but they are never even greeted in the NT.
It seems quite strange. As if the New Testament church disappeared and was replaced by completely different people in the following generation.
