Why Threads Become Unedifying

It's not the only reason, I am sure, but I have seen three different threads shut down for the same reason, and I agree with it.

The Catholics invade the thread without any regard to the topic at hand, and begin arguments about Catholicism, and the mudslinging begins.

That's why I don't acknowledge them anymore.

Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them.

When one of them enters a thread, watch and see for yourself.

I don't see any others so consistently doing that. Even when there is disagreement, it is usually on topic.

Now, if they want to start a thread entirely about the Catholic religion and faith, then that might be different.

The only thread they stay on topic is Mary, Queen of Scots. I mean, the Blessed Virgin 'Mary'.
