For the reasons already shared - and even more directly:
To bring about the forgiveness of sins.

Jesus Himself tells us this on the night of His Resurrection when He appears to His disciples.
John 20:21-23
Jesus said to them again, “Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, so I send you.” And when he had said this, he breathed on them and said to them, “Receive the holy Spirit. Whose sins YOU forgive are forgiven them, and whose sins YOU retain are retained.”

Jesus was sent to brng about the forgiveness of sins so that we could be saved.
Here, He gives that authority to His discuples - the first leaders of His Church.

Excellent question Matt, why is it excellent? Perhaps because I know the answer ;). Actually Jesus came for 3 reasons sir, first and foremost he said this:
(Luke 4:43) . . .“I must also declare the good news of the Kingdom of God to other cities, because for this I was sent.”

#2: (Matthew 20:28) . . .the Son of man came to minister and to give his life as a ransom in exchange for many. . .

#3: To answer the issue Matt: satan claimed basically that man was a defective creation in fact he said to Jehovah Himself: (Job 2:4) . . .satan answered Jehovah: “Skin for skin. A man will give everything that he has for his life. satan said this right in front of the angels stationed before Jehovah's throne V1. So he made a statement, since no human had ever not sinned, could they? Jesus never sinned sir, so he proved beyond a reasonable doubt that Jehovah's creation was able to remain perfect, and that it was Adam's misuse of free will that led to our imperfection.

Why was Jesus sent?
To show us the heart of God and draw all men to that heart.

Thank you for sharing, QT.

To seek and save the lost so that we might live IN Him.

I've heard said Jesus came here to die. I can understand the reasoning behind that, but something in me, maybe the part that got loved, is appalled at the thought of seeing Jesus as merely a sacrifice.

For if, while we were God’s enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life! (Romans 5:10)

There has to be more shouldn’t there be?

Why was Jesus ultimately sent for?

Jesus came to Earth as a witness to the whole inhabited universe of the heart of God.
His condescension and willing submission to his creatures revealed to all intelligences that Satans charge against God was a lie.
It forever settled the doubt sown by Lucifer. God was vindicated, mankind rescued and Satan self condemned.

Another verse close to the last verse posted is at 1 John 4.14: "And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world."

Wow those are very helpful scriptures, Lambano.

Going through them what are your own overall thoughts on the subject ?
