No, this is about the quality of that salvation, whether for glory and honour or else, for shame and dishonour. Do we even care about the outcome of our own spiritual race? What's it going to take to wake up from the deep sleep that has befallen the modern Church?

Hello to the Original Poster,

Working out your own salvation, means that when you encounter other people in life who, you have heard have done bad and terrible things. Perhaps they have a record, you don't go around condemning them, or placing yourself in a position of authority to say they are not in right standing with Yahavah. Because the truth is they can change their life around, so don't wish death upon them, or hoping for them to go to hell. While reports to law enforcement are needed to get a criminal convicted, and arrested and charged. Even Serial killers can have a change of heart, I believe anyway. Many people believe people in this world deserve the death penalty. While justice is meeted out in this life, Yahavah sees people justified in looking to him in faith, with or without knowing the Lord Yeshua, in the end they will find out who it was whom saved their life, once they have found salvation in being delivered from their natural fleshly state of being, though we suffer and toil with it. Of course, this is my opinion.

What does Paul mean by the race?
Paul uses the figure of speech of running to describe what the Christian life is all about. He describes the Christian life as like a race. We are in a race, in what God wants us to be, growing into that kind of person God would have us to be.

Well said. Jesus has already won the Victory. Everyone knows that I think. Our task until Jesus comes for us, is to enforce the victory over our soul and carnal nature. The spirit and soul fight over who dictates to the flesh how to speak and how to behave. That's called overcoming the flesh.

Do the reader have trouble hearing the voice of God? Then you prolly watch too much TV! Television is programming you. I dont watch TV anymore! I watch videos. Teaching videos with some entertainment sprinkled in. I like old westerns and watch them. Bonanza mostly. They try to help every vagabind that comes along lol. Ben's seen reading the bible a lot. They even had an episode where Virginia City got themselves an Angel for a Preacher! The Angel ducks out moments before the real preacher shows up and makes everybody go, huh?! That episode brings some glory to God. And documentaries are interesting too at times. But if the show dont bring glory to God then it's prolly not good to watch it. I suspect that the more worldly the show is the more harder it makes it to hear Gods voice.

You notions are simplistic in the extreme. Catering to the flesh. Salvation works in time...past, present and future. Inheriting life is not the same as walking in eternal life right now. A man can be rich right now. Another might become rich later as an inheritance...having been previously poor. You should do some research into how this life works. When you have done this...THEN look at the parables again to see how the kingdom works.

Don't you believe that the born again WILL BE SAVED??? Or is that lost on judgment day? The bible clearly says that if one ENDURES to the end the same shall be saved. So then a righteous man needs to continue in righteousness to be saved. A born again person will be saved IF he/she continues to the end. But even then a born again person will still be saved...but to what end? Not all who say Lord Lord will enter into the kingdom...either NOW at present...or as saints on judgment day. That is a Christian's badge of identification. Their faith perseveres to death. It is a statement of fact, the essence and quality of a soul whose faith is authored and finished by God. As the Bible identifies Christians another way: "by their fruit, you will know them"; we persevere because the Holy Spirit has sealed our faith and guides us along to finish the race. This is not an earned salvation, it is a gift, given by Jesus who earned it. Working out our salvation means of course that we cooperate with His plan for us; pray, serve, obey, love, demonstrate our fruit. But that occupation doesn't earn us salvation, it has already been earned by Christ.

My ministry toward the church is a spiritual one of casting down imaginations and things that exalt themselves AGAINST the actual knowledge of God. Religious certainty is a faith destroyer. Religious hubris is just pride that God resists and will reject on judgment day.

How many have become puffed up with religious certainty after having a spiritual experience? A new birth is good...very good. But what it does to an uncrucified person is not good. Grace is deceitful for these.

We are EQUIVALENT to the Israelites in the wilderness who are born of the Spirit. The NATURE of our race is at another level. But the same warnings hold true...because WE are still human.

How many will humble themselves among the rich Western countries? Very few. Those who seek their our advancement will not relinquish what has been promised to them by men. Such is the way of indoctrination.

Judgment comes AFTER a bodily death. By definition ALL permanent salvation occurs at that time. This is called the final redemption (of the body). But your surmisings are way off and not biblically based. God decides who enters into life in the next age. Men can't judge anything of the sort.

And you are confusing holiness with salvation. The gospel is about holiness. The salvation that holiness brings is based on an eternal life that is above all sin.

A man can be saved from drowning. Is he saved? Yes. Then he gets back to shore and is hit by a semi-truck and dies. Was he saved from drowning? Yes. Jesus said that we should repent unless something worse befalls us...AFTER being saved. A house (soul) that is swept of demons has been delivered (saved) from such possession. But Jesus says that worse demons can enter into that clean place unless we get on the right track. That's how salvation works. At least according to the bible and Jesus.

Notice in Philippians 2:12 that Paul said to "work out" your salvation and NOT "work for" your salvation. When we "work out" at the gym, we exercise to develop our body that we already have and not to get a body. Farmers "work out" the land, not in order to get the land, but to develop the land they already have. The Greek verb rendered "work out" means "to continually work to bring something to completion or fruition." We do this by actively pursuing the process of ongoing sanctification, which is the result of being set apart for God's work and involves the process of being conformed to the image of Christ.

This conforming to Christ involves the work of the person, but it is still God working in the believer to produce more of a godly character and life in the person who has already been justified by faith. (Romans 5:1) In verse 13, Paul goes on to say, "for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure."

In regard to "fear and trembling," it pertains to a healthy fear of offending God through disobedience and a righteous awe and respect or reverence for Him. (Proverbs 1:7; Psalm 2:11; Psalm 34:9; Isaiah 66:2) Paul uses the same phrase "fear and trembling" in 2 Corinthians 7:15 in which he refers to Titus as being encouraged by the reception of him by the Corinthians "with fear and trembling," that is, with humility and respect for his position as a minister of Jesus Christ. In 1 Corinthians 2:3, we see that Paul himself came to the Corinthian church in "weakness and fear, and with much trembling" in regard to the huge responsibility and critical importance of the work in which he was engaged.
