I have no doubt that Jesus is returning as well, but I am trusting that the justifying and sanctifying work of the Spirit of God in the hearts of His followers has made a tremendous difference in the world over the past 2000+ years. The idea that the world is getting worse and worse makes God look weak, rather than strong. His Kingdom Come, His Will be Done - ON EARTH as in Heaven! The world is more full of Christian charity today than in any other point in history, and will continue to affect the world in a positive way until He returns.

God is touching Spirits now as we speak. The Lord is saving people and telling messages through people, but this world is becoming corrupt and God will destroy this earth. We need to stop judging each other and focus on our eternity with Jesus.

There are more believers today than in anytime in history! More believers today live in areas of the world that are hostile to Christianity than in any other time in history.

The 'evil one' is nothing compared to the power of God. Not even worth mentioning.

When I was growing up a lot more wives had the option of staying at home, the husband's salaries were enough; the 4 bedroom house we lived in cost $12,000, and we were considered a middle class income family. Nowdays, I don't see how a young couple with just a high school diploma even makes it financially, and that's with both spouses working.

Also, you didn't hear of Christians being perseucted for bringing their Bibles to school with them to read during study hall. Nor did you hear about Christians being persecuted for public prayer. My dad who was a WWII combat Marine even said they weren't allowed to curse in the Marines in the 1940's like he heard in the movie Heartbreak Ridge by Clint Eastwood (during my Viet Nam era, those in the military cursed up a storm). Prior to the 1960's, teens were not as influenced by things like the hippie-drug culture, Communist activists and eastern mystical religious nuts either. And just about everyone I knew in my grade school attended Church on Sunday. Even the majority of stores stayed closed on Sunday, and families had big gatherings on Sundays.

The only thing that still makes historical Christian nations like the U.S. still a Christian nation, is the people in it that still believe on Jesus Christ. But as for much of our leadership today, they represent World Socialism, an anti-Christian ideal.

So the United States is worse off for middle income, white Christians compared to the 50's? Perhaps for babyboomers.....I happen to think our culture has been enriched.

Ah, so if God was making an impact on the world, it would be perfect? Not everyone has responded to Christ's call to redemption - I never said there is no such thing as evil in the world - I said the world is better off today than it has ever been because of the work of Jesus on the cross and the work of the Holy Spirit in the hearts of His people.

God so loved the world that He gave His only Son.

The entire point of Christianity is to love God and our neighbor. The only way we can love our neighbor is to know we are loved by God - it is really His love working through us - so does God's love go out from us in vain? Did Jesus die for nothing?

Condemnation of the world in the NT is condemnation for human systems - institutional racism, corruption, nepotism, wars for profit, oppression of people for the profit of the powerful, imprisoning the uneducated and minority classes for profit - basically it is human justice rather than God's justice. Choosing to love in the face of human justice is God's answer - His people are invited to help by loving their neighbors.

Hatred for the world requires us to love the people in the world. The world is so much better because we have the hope of the Gospel to counteract human justice.
