Welcome to one of the best hobbies of all time! I have kept a ranked list since I got out of college, which I also categorized. There are so many great books! What genres most interest you?I'm interested in expanding my (small) library of books. I used to read more often, but then life got in the way. I think I'm finally going to get back into reading.
What are some of your faves?

I agree! If you aren’t reading with a pen you aren’t really reading.
This got me into fountain pens with different color inks, to signify different things.

Figuring out how to make time to read more books as a busy person means embracing multiple formats, limiting distractions, and so much more!
- Don‘t watch TV.
- Discipline. Set time to read every day.
- I do devotional Bible study as soon as I wake up, before I have food or drink.
- Read the last hour before sleep. You’ll find you fall asleep faster.
- Take a variety of books with you when you travel. Makes waiting time disappear.
- Take a book with you to read at family functions, like kids birthday parties or sporting events.
- Even football only takes 11 minutes from snap to end of play.
- Lots of dead time.
- IF there is socializing opportunity with family and friends, take it. If there is boring downtime with little interaction, don’t feel it is anti-social to let the book you are reading let others strike up a conversation
- Keep a book in your car.
- If you break down or are waiting for the police after an accident or there is an accident that stops all movement

Funny story. What got me into reading books is when I was going through a tough time and heard a song. I tried to really apply the words to the song to my situation. Someone said Aristotle wrote on that topic also.
I compared what the singer had to say to what Aristotle had to say on the topic. Then I thought, how can a few verses in a song compare to the wisdom in books from the greatest minds of all time? That's when it hit me; the treasure trove that is books.

About the same. Modern life makes it difficult to read or have any sense of calm really.
I'll have to look into that one. Wasn't it required reading in school at one time? Do you enjoy military stories, Matthias? They are my favorite.
It was required reading when I was in high school in the 70’s.

I’m a conscientious objector. I read military stories but not for enjoyment.
If you haven’t read this one, I highly recommend it.
