So after a small break and reading some of this thread I can see an overwhelming victory in support of OSAS, 276 pages, And its clear non-OSAS have no bases other than to look to themselves, Lots of Great verses and opinions, but it clearly comes down to trusting Jesus = Safe as a rock, As apposed to trusting themselves with no assurance, Great thread guys
If popular support is the measure of truth, Christianity as a whole is in deep kimchi. I hope we were born in the right part of the world.

But that would be talking like someone who was never saved to begin with. Only those who aren't saved contemplate a life of freedom from Christianity when things are going well.
As usual, OSASers can't resist judging all NON OSASers as unsaved! lol

You can't help it. OSASers are the most judgmental folks I have talked to. Good luck on Judgment Day!

I understand that faith is all the thief on the cross had. And so he had Jesus also.
Why do we need a volume of 3/4 million words to live by, then? Didn't grace help a little, or did he get faith some other way?

Grace was all he had.

Grace and faith go hand in hand.

Which is exactly what I've been saying all along. The only thing that counts is that you are believing, today. Not yesterday, not tomorrow. Today. That's what the Bible tells us to do. The Osas contention fades into meaningless when you focus on what the Bible tells you to focus on.
And the only thing that counts is you are in Christ and Christ is in you.

All mankind are in Adam, but not all are in the second Adam.

Matthew 7:1-2 (NKJV)
1 "Judge not, that you be not judged. 2 For with what judgment you judge, you will be judged;

I'm sorry--you've misunderstood me. I wasn't remotely implying that *you* are unsaved. I was saying quite the opposite, that since you, as a saved person, would *not* contemplate a life without Christ, you would have a hard time understanding how *any* saved person would contemplate leaving Christ.

The situation I'm leaving you with is the idea that there are in fact Christians out there who are Christian "in name only," who have genuine convictions that Christianity is true, but who are not fully engaged in it, not being "born again." I've known many such people, who would claim to be Christian, but who don't live the Christian life. Some of them do even partly live the Christian life, and convey the Gospel message, but do not themselves fully invest themselves into union with Christ. They are more engrossed with the *power* of Christ than with the *person* of Christ.

Those like you and me who love the person of Christ hardly contemplate leaving him. But I'm saying that there are those who call themselves "Christians" who do not fully commit to Christ precisely because they do contemplate a life not fully vested in Christ. And they can easily contemplate being something other than a "right wing fundamentalist," or an "extreme Christian." Some accept all the basic doctrines and actually know Christ, but are full of internal conflicts and bitterness. And I believe these are not really born again.

I don't think those who have capitulated to Christ, making him Lord, contemplate leaving him. So if they do leave him, it has to be a major disappointment, or some kind of emotional breakdown. Normal Christians simply do not contemplate leaving Christ, because he is their life.

Sorry you got the wrong idea. I wasn't judging you in the least. On the contrary, I believe you're a true believer. My point is that true believers do not contemplate leaving Christ. So if they do leave him, it is not a completely "sane" decision, and Christ would take that into consideration on Judgment Day.

I do not believe Christians who have spiritual breakdowns like this, or Christians who commit suicide, are lost. I believe they've been ruined by painful experiences, and can be forgiven for their lack of insight and emotional turmoil by a merciful God.

I have had friends who were true Christians who committed suicide. I believe they're still saved. And I've had true Christian friends who left the faith, due to crises in their emotional or intellectual life. I also believe they will be saved.

But you're entitled to your own opinion. As you yourself quoted, "Judge not, lest you be judged."

"Ones faith in" what?
How does the blood of Jesus save you?
What is it saving you from?

“ without the shedding of blood , there is no Forgiveness Of Sins “...... does that sound like it May be something worth knowing ?

What does Faith in the Shed Blood Of Jesus Save you From ? An eternity in Hell.....no small thing...

Ad hominem and innuendo.
Very clever.
And predictable.

The only thing tat counts is *you are Christ?* Are you saying you're Christ? Is this a spelling error? Did you mean to say that the only thing that counts is you are a "Christian?"

Look at your words......"if you really believe that". Nobody's saying a person who is believing is going to lose their salvation. It's the person who stops believing that will lose their salvation. I don't think this is hard. But it's so far removed from the Osas paradigm of thinking they can't grasp this simple truth. There's no room in their thinking to even consider it, let alone accept it.

Unbelief. Rejecting Christ. That's the one sin that will cause you to be damned for all the other sins you commit. He did not die for the sin of unrepentant, willful unbelief in the face of the revelation of who Christ is. That's the one sin Jesus said will not be forgiven, not in this age or the age to come.

An Entire Lifetime Of “ Unbelief” will get you Hell- no doubt about it...

A Believer That “ stumbles” into Unbelief during His Faith Walk had “THAT” SIN covered at the instant he asked to be Saved.....the “monkey” is on God’s back, to put it rather crudely ... “HE” is the One that said “ Anybody that ASKS to be Saved, “WILL” be Saved” .....”HE” is the One that said He would “ Finish the Work That He Started”, “ HE” is the One that said he would “Save to the UTTERMOST all that would turn to Him with Faith in Jesus Christ”......” HE” is the One that Promised to “ Remain Faithful” even when we are Unfaithful .....

God sure told us tons of lies if what you say is true.....and it ain’t true .... “ It is Impossible for God to lie”

I know this is a hard position to accept.....I have trouble believing it myself sometimes——- “ WHAT DID YOU SAY? You claim an Unbeliever can die in that state and still go to Heaven? Are you Nuts?” I know it flies in the face of human reasoning .....yet..... I can’t get around the Scriptures that I quoted and I also think “ Amazing Grace” May be FAR more “ amazing” than we want to accept.....

Yes, it most definitely is worth knowing, so what did you trust to receive this forgiveness of sin?
When does being Saved from eternity in Hell begin?

Heyyyyyy I forgot about your favourite line "ad hominem".... It's just so hard to open you up and get you to answer honestly you are always quoting that lady or running off...You pop in with your attempt...at humour then you're off I'm starting to think you come to find me so you can say ad hominem.....Which is at least borderline innuendo not very clever and predictable....But your a funny guy and your humour can improve! but I do appreciate the effort, Its always good to see you and TALK with you

Not only does it fly in the face of human reasoning, it flies in the face of scripture. The Bible says you have to keep believing in order to be saved....

Now, brothers, I want to remind you of the gospel I preached to you, which you received, and in which you stand firm. By this gospel you are saved, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain. 1 Corinthians 15:1-2
So there's no way going back to unbelief is covered by the blood of Jesus. That doesn't nullify the promises of God. It means the promises are only for believing people. But we knew that already because that's how he stated the promises. "whoever hears My word and believes" John 5:24.
