Believe it or not I haven't seen this show yet, but I am a HUGE fan of Doctor Who and watching the trailer it seems really similar. I hear that it's supposed to be really good, but I'm not quite sure what it's about. :/ @Devin Wintch, @Tone, @JohnDB, or @Taodeching,.. you guys seem like the type who would be into this sort of thing. Have any of you seen it? What do you think of it? And can you get a brief summary without giving out spoilers if you have seen it? I'm thinking of watching it anyways tomorrow but I'm just curious. All I know so far is there's a girl who has powers like Carrie as I just read that part.

Great show! My wife and I watched all the episodes. The show reveals bits and pieces. The girl has powers but unlike Carrie who was born with telekinesis powers, this girl was a product of experimentation, along with other children.

The experimentation was driven by an evil vortex to an alternative reality. It is unclear how the vortex was opened initially but what is clear is that beasts from it emerge from time to time. These beasts have numerous telekinetic and telepathic abilities as well as the ability to be cut into pieces and emerge as one large beast again. So, killing these creatures has proved impossible - except for the girl and her telekinesis.

Subplots involve her relationship with a boy as they enter their teen years. The boys relationship with his mother and the mother's relationship with the sheriff. The local sheriff is a good guy but in the season finale, he was telepathically overcome by the beast. Somehow, he got transported through the vortex to Russia (during the height of the Cold War).

Sounds cool, I'm surprised that you or nobody else has given me a lecture about liking stuff where people have powers as I had expected lol

Sorry. If liking Dr. Who makes me a nerd, as some people say, then I guess I'm a nerd. I really don't care what people think of me. I guess that comes from being lied about so much. I know what God thinks of me. I'd be lying if I said anything else. :)

If I did, I'd be the biggest hypocrite in the world! I love fiction involving super powers and magic.

As a kid, I loved Superman. Then Star Wars came out with 'the Force.' Green Lantern, Harry Potter & Marvel Comics all obsess over magic stones.

Human powers are relegated to not super powers, which is somewhat unfortunate. Ever get that feeling that someone is watching you? New research shows that a mind projects a field and we can train ourselves to be sensitive to it. Just last month, I learned the Earth's atmosphere extends past the moon!

Perhaps communing with the Holy Spirit is a super power of ours. What do you think?

@Truman the Levite, like I told you before nerds are cool and @Wrangler,.. looks like I just made a friend all over again lol :D A little bit off the topic, but tonight I'm going to see something called The Wrath of Man which is supposed to be really good,.. but I haven't said anything about it up until now because it's an action movie and looks like a lot of shooting and other stuff that other people on here might find sinful.

Stranger Things is totally tubular. It's set in my decade - the 80's and @Wrangler gave a great summary. It is a must watch!

This is about mkultra.
Umm,.. alrighty then lol

What?
She @lilygrace is 100% absolutely correct. I have a survivor friend who was used in Hollywood and she brought this to my attention when the series first came out. She knew some of the inside details to why it was made and it was made as a way to expose ...this is specifically about what happened at Montauk.

Just remember as you're watching it, that these are things that many people experienced, such as myself. It wasn't fun, nor entertaining.... just being honest.

I didn't watch every episode, but enough to see the obvious connections. I was trained in telekinesis from very early childhood. I also was used in remote viewing, and time experiments, sent back to the time of Nazi occupation just before the Holocaust to gather some sort of information they wanted.
