I'm mocking you, not the scriptures, lol. In fun, of course. I know that you are the victim of a church that has rejected all things 'old testament'. But you and I won't fully understand justification and sanctification without the old testament scriptures. Those scriptures that can make one wise for salvation through faith in Christ.

That's no excuse to fail to differentiate between covenants. People say they reject dispensationalism, but they know enough to not tuck a sheep under their arm as they book a flight to Israel.

In your mocking you put yourself on display. And you are not accurate about me. So say what you will, however, who are you kidding?

What does it mean to you that we are "justified away from sin"?

Much love!

You cut off the part that says how....
This is because I'm trying to ask a bit different of a question.

Not, applied by what method or process, i.e. received in faith, rather, to what effect, that is,

He dies the death we deserve for our sins.
He rises from the dead because he has no sin of his own for which death can hold him.
He presents himself before the Father in heaven as the acceptable Sacrifice for sin on our behalf.
The Sacrifice is acceptable, and as a result the temple is sanctified and the Holy Spirit fills the temple.
All of this is applied to the person who receives it by faith, believing in it.

These things being applied, in what way does that affect us? That Jesus rose from the dead, in applying His resurrection from among the dead ones to me, what does that mean for me?

Like, if you apply a tax, I pay. Apply a cold compress, I chill. Apply pressure, I bruise. Apply Jesus' resurrection, I _________ what?

Much love!

This is how Dallas Willard defines Salvation:

Salvation is not an event it is a life. It is not just forgiveness and a “ticket to heaven” -it is an interactive life with God, participating now in what Jesus is doing on earth. The Biblical word for salvation is deliverance.
Wonderful stuff :)

Mock the Scriptures if you will! Though you mean to be mocking me, I'm sure! What does Scripture tell us regarding mockers?

You deflect from the issue by your mocking. But that does not replace a valid answer.

Certainly all Scripture is useful! That's not what is in question. Is NT faith in the New Covenant to be defined according to men's faith before that covenant? Looking first within the New Testament to understand the terms and concepts in the New Testament will give the clear answer.

Much love!

A shared life with our Creator. With my Creator.

Who steps into His Own creation to be one with us. Is that not the most amazing and incredible thing? It's simply what He does. The reason He made us, so He could share Himself with us, even within our own little domain!

Much love!

It means to have God's Spirit in you. Which in Osas means, by definition, He can't leave you. So Osas uses it's own meaning of what it means to have the Holy Spirit in you to prove Osas.

“ I will NEVER leave you nor Forsake you “...... a five year old could understand it...

It means to have your sin guilt removed and a declaration of righteousness put in it's place. Which in Osas means, by definition, that guilt can never come back, so Osas uses it's own definition of justified to prove Osas. It's quite amusing.

Not NEARLY as “amusing” as “Lucky Repentance” nor the Twisting Of Simple Scriptures That Add to the Gospel Of Pure Grace by Adding to what Christ accomplished on the Cross and have you and your Acolytes “ Fallen From Grace” without even knowing it........... wait a minute! It really ain’t that “ amusing” , is it ? Poor Newbies have their Joy and Assurance stripped from their Walks Of Faith Before they even get out of the Gate....it’s actually kinda Shameful....

Who's definition is that?

I have a little different answer to this question about what it means to be reborn. I believe rebirth is the name for what happens when God, immerses us into Christ to die in His death, be buried in His grave, and be raised in His life. To be alive in Christ is to be generated by God.

This is also called being crucified, dead to our flesh, to sin, and is described as being a different kind of life that is lived in a different kind of way, dead to the Law, as we once had a life that derived from Adam, but in our rebirth we now have a life derived from the Spirit of God.

Once we were creatures of flesh born from Adam. Now we are creatures of spirit, born from God. We live in these fleshy bodies, called "the body of our humiliation", but Jesus promised to change them to be like His glorious body.

Much love!

I don't think he's mocking the Scriptures. I think he's defending them, albeit through sarcasm. It's true that early believers in Christ had only the Old Testament for instruction. Sure the disciples taught. But the main instruction for early Christians was the OT. Just sayin'. :)

The talent in the Parable is the word of God. Some hear the word of God and do something with it. Others hear it and do nothing with it, and when Jesus comes back they are thrown "into the outer darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth." Matthew 25:30.

What is “ doing” something about it and what Is “ Not” doing something about it? The only thing that one “MUST” do is to become “Born Again” , right?

you still have free will
Still can choose to sin

Galatians 5:4
Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace.

  1. 1 John 5:16
If any man see his brother sin a sin which is not unto death, he shall ask, and he shall give him life for them that sin not untodeath. There is a sin unto death: I do not say that he shall pray for it.

Repentance is possible so is sin

I don't think he's mocking the Scriptures.

I realize not many people will be with me on that. I can't see using the word horrible as an adjective for the Bible in any context, myself. To string these words together, "Horrible Old Testament" as sarcastic mockery, as if to make them my words, simply to serve his manipulative purposes. That's what that behavior is, you know. I ask him questions he cannot answer, point out things he does not wish seen, so he's taken to sarcasm and mocking, not just in this instance. He frequently deflects from responding this way. I point it out.

It's true that early believers in Christ had only the Old Testament for instruction. Sure the disciples taught. But the main instruction for early Christians was the OT. Just sayin'. :)

Actually the early believers had the Apostles, who also went on to write the Scriptures. I'm thinking that as they were teaching from the OT, they were including Christ's teaching of the New Covenant as well.

Paul didn't tell us that rebirth was like when God changed Saul's heart. No where is that comparison made, and when I look to see how it fits with the Scriptures in general, I don't see that playing out as a valid type. Abraham is given as the example, for instance. So why not go there for an example? The NT clearly identifies Abraham as the example of the imputation of righteousness because he believed God. But then Saul later backslid. So that serves the purpose better. I ask the question, why pick one over the other?

We are not in Apostolic times, and we read their teachings. I have this idea that as I hear @Ferris Bueller teaching New Covenant Theology but bypassing the New Testament in favor of the Old Testament teachings, and then ends up with ideas flatly contradicted in the New Testament, well, do you see where I'm going here?

I mean, at least either have a dialog, or just drop out, but these non-answers and deflections don't serve any meaningful purpose in my opinion.

Much love!
