Might be a good time to study the Old Testament prophets about Egypt.

Per Dan.11, Egypt is not to escape out of the hand of the vile person, the vile person put for the antichrist of the end.

Revelation 13:7 (NKJV)
[sup]7 [/sup]And authority was given him over every tribe, tongue, and nation.

So you think everything prior to this has now happened in Revelation?

Of course you don't. You wouldn't dare say any of the seven trumpet judgement have happened, would you?

This is another example of picking and choosing scripture.

Ever wonder why folks that do as you do have been doing this for centuries and are always... wrong?

Every generation has folks that do this. They'll take a snippet here, a snippet there, and say we're in the last days. They're always wrong.

They don't think that, "Maybe it's because I'm taking a snippet here and a snippet there"...

Thief in the night, dear Textus.

I think one has to be careful about saying that too much. You will see people get burnt when dates and such are thrown out yes, but the world has not seen anything like our time. Revolt in one country or a group can send prices spiraling (think oil 10%+ in two days) in another just hours later. Seems mundane, but things have been happening and will continue to happen. Keep in mind that it's only the beginning.

Are you Preterist? The rise of the Nation of Israel from the dead marks this generation as THE LAST.

We are definately in the last days, God and the scriptures are clear about that.
No, it's actually not. Every generation since the time of Christ has thought they were in the "last days".

but the world has not seen anything like our time.
Nonsense. 5 soldiers get killed, and it's news.
HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS died in battles. MILLIONS of Jews after Christ's time on earth. This isn't dropping one nuke- this is hand to hand, bloody, graphic, sinister warfare. WE DON'T SEE THIS TODAY.

I'm sorry, but the world is MUCH MORE IMPROVED than it used to have been.

In the last 60 years, the average income has tripled for your average person.
The population has increased by 600% and life expectancy has doubled in just the last 200 years.

Just 50 years ago, we would have needed 32 million acres of crops to feed the 6 billion people on earth. Our crop yields have gotten immensely better. It would only take 15 million (HALF) today.

Prices for food (Adjusted for inflation) are 75% less than they were 60 years ago.

Poverty has fallen. European dictators have lost power, in the last 50 years we have made more strides in fixing poverty than in hundreds of years.

I'm sorry, but the world's evils are shrinking. The only people that maintain "things are getting so bad!"... Are the ones that refuse to look at the big picture.

Are you Preterist? The rise of the Nation of Israel from the dead marks this generation as THE LAST.
The nation in the Middle East is NOT the Israel of the Bible. I suggest you educate yourself on the matter (see my other thread).

Rather than guess where your unreferenced thread can be found, can you tell us where the biblical nation of Israel was actually located and where Jerusalem used to be?

TexUs, are you Preterist? Which Nation are you referring to?

No.

In the Biblical times (And sometimes today, but not as much), "Nation" didn't refer to a "ruling government over a section of land".... "Nation" referred to a people.

Replace Nation with People. The People of Israel, the Nation of Israel. God's People are God's People regardless of where they resided.

Again, read my topic, I'm not going to repeat everything that's already been said there.

Ok, thanks for answering the question. God raised the Nation of Israel from the dead to assure us that we are living in THE LAST generation. Enjoy the show. It's gonna be a LULU! Have you watched the news this week?

The Nation of Israel was dead and is alive, because Jesus was dead and is alive.

No, the Nation of Israel is God's People. It's as simple as that.

God originally gave Israel his representative governance: a High Priest, a King.

Christ came to earth and changed that. HE is our High Priest. HE is our King. The veil was removed (or did you miss the point of the gospel?): there was no longer any need for God to have earthly governance of his people.

This didn't change in 1949
God will not be taking us backwards. He won't be re-establishing what he DIED TO ELIMINATE. He won't be hanging a veil up, he won't be building a temple, he won't be re-instituting sacrifices, he won't be establishing a representative government here on earth again. It's POINTLESS. He ELIMINATED and FULFILLED that. You miss most of the gospel to believe what you believe about Israel.

The Nation that SATURATED the OT is now irrelevant? Nah. Israel was merely set aside temporarily for Gentiles to obtain salvation.

Romans 11:1-5 (NKJV)
[sup]1 [/sup]I say then, has God cast away His people? Certainly not! For I also am an Israelite, of the seed of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin. [sup]2 [/sup]God has not cast away His people whom He foreknew. Or do you not know what the Scripture says of Elijah, how he pleads with God against Israel, saying, [sup]3 [/sup]"Lord, they have killed Your prophets and torn down Your altars, and I alone am left, and they seek my life"? [sup]4 [/sup]But what does the divine response say to him? "I have reserved for Myself seven thousand men who have not bowed the knee to Baal." [sup]5 [/sup]Even so then, at this present time there is a remnant according to the election of grace.

Get this straight: The STATE, the GOVERNANCE, the EARTHLY RULE of the State of Israel in the Middle East is NOT the Israel of the Bible.

Israel has always been, and will always be, GOD'S PEOPLE.

God doesn't have a special deal with an earthly nation. He has a special deal with his PEOPLE.

Just because the STATE OF ISRAEL (the one in the Middle East) decided to call their new land "Israel" does not make it the Israel of the Bible.

I can name my child "Abraham"- it does not make him the Abraham of the Bible.

Now therefore, if you will indeed obey my voice and keep my covenant, you shall be my treasured possession among all peoples, for all the earth is mine; and you shall be to me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation. These are the words that you shall speak to the people of Israel.
...
All the people answered together and said, “All that the Lord has spoken we will do.”
...
Obey my voice, and I will be your God, and you shall be my people.

Where did the name Israel even come from? A nation? Nope:
Your name shall no longer be called Jacob, but Israel, for you have striven with God and with men, and have prevailed.

God's agreements and focus has always been with people. Not an earthly nation.
