The context of this passage is; Jesus Christ in you the Son is greater than all. You know what this says to the believer? As great as Melchisedec is: he cannot compare to the 'Glory of God in you.' Hallelujah!

Greater is he that is in you: than he that is in the world. Now Jesus said; my Father is greater than all. But in scripture when you read these passages, as great as Melchisedek was, and the credentials he had. No father, no mother, no start of days, nor end of life, and was created for the Highest office you can hold in God, in the land at the time.

That is impressive credentials to say the least about a human being! This human being was placed in the highest office you could have in God then; a High Priest; and like none other priest. Abraham even gave him a tenth of his spoils. Like no other high priest; nor human being in the flesh. - yet he cannot compare to Christ the Son. Christ the Son in you and you cannot compare the life we have to any other life that has ever existed in creation before.

That is what this passage is all about; to allow the believer to see what God their Father has done; in creation by Melchisedec in his creation. And now to show His Glory in creation, in all creation, by taking apart of Himself (Christ the Son) and placing it in the creature. Making a joint union like no other that has ever existed; the birthing is the answer. The birthing is the key to; unlocking the Glory of God to the believer.

The HolySpirit is going to have to teach you sooner or later - but you need to know the Glory of God. The way He can show His Glory is; birthing His Own children by Christ in Creation in you the hope of glory! Glory!

We take for granted what the plan of God is and the reason men live and breathe. We take for granted we are not living in any other age but the age of Grace. The age of Grace is the; reason for all things; Eph. 1:4.

When we get these kind of things brought back to memory we should take some time and concider the things of God - allow the Spirit to work that in so it is a dailey living, always in the ready. Fixed in you by the HolySpirit; to the Glory of God. How powerful all of the plan of God is. It is called the 'Glory of God" in scripture for a reason.

The plan of God is; 'The Glory Of God.'

There is no other glory. And we are (those with Christ the Son in them) 'to the praise of His Glory; to the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved. - Ephesians 1:6.

- And men still argue over doctrine and frivolous notions, to their shame - read men and weep before the Glory of God!

1 Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God,
2 of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment.
3 And this will we do, if God permit. - Hebrews 6:1-3.

12 For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat. - Hebrews 5:12.

For every high priest taken from among men is ordained for men in things pertaining to God, that he may offer both gifts and sacrifices for sins:who can have compassion on the ignorant, and on them that are out of the way; for that he himself also is compassed with infirmity.And by reason hereof he ought, as for the people, so also for himself, to offer for sins.And no man taketh this honour unto himself, but he that is called of God, as was Aaron.So also Christ glorified not himself to be made an high priest; but he that said unto him, Thou art my Son, to day have I begotten thee.As he saith also in another place, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.Who in the days of his flesh, when he had offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto him that was able to save him from death, and was heard in that he feared;though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered;and being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him;called of God an high priest after the order of Melchisedec.Of whom we have many things to say, and hard to be uttered, seeing ye are dull of hearing. - Hebrews 5:1-11.

@soul man Hebrews is a mighty Epistle indeed; and the exalted position of the believer's Great High priest is wondrous in its implications...

And men still argue over doctrine and frivolous notions, to their shame - read men and weep before the Glory of God!
Hello @soul man

I agree, the Glory of God is the object, the goal:-

'Who now rejoice in my sufferings for you,
.. and fill up that which is behind of the afflictions of Christ
.... in my flesh for His body's sake, which is the church:
...... Whereof I am made a minister,
........ according to the dispensation of God
.......... which is given to me for you,
............ to fulfil the word of God;
.............. Even the mystery
................ which hath been hid from ages and from generations,
.................. but now is made manifest to His saints:
To Whom God would make known
..
what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among (G1722 'en') the Gentiles;
.... which is Christ in (ie.,'en' = 'among' G1722) you, the hope of glory:
...... Whom we preach,
........ warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom;
.......... that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus:
............ Whereunto I also labour,
.............. striving according to His working,
................ which worketh in me mightily.'

(Colossians 1:24-29)

* The word 'perfect' here, indicates the reaching of a goal. There can be no improving on the finished work of Christ: Paul's concern was, that those who had been made meet and holy and unblameable in Christ Jesus, should rise and walk in the power of this position, and experimentally lay hold on that for which they had been laid hold of by Christ Jesus their Lord.

* This is why Paul uses the word 'beware', and warns against a false conception of holiness. for the believer is 'complete' in Christ Jesus.

Hello again, @soul man,

We know that the Believer is placed
'in Christ' by God (1 Corinthians 1:30-31) and thereby secured: but the inner man must be strengthened with might by the Holy Spirit of God, before Christ can, 'dwell in their hearts by faith': and the believer must be rooted and grounded in love in order to comprehend the four dimensions of His calling (Ephesians 3:18): and know the love of Christ (which passes knowledge); and ultimately be filled with all the fulness of God.

* It is something that needs to be prayed for, as is 'the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of God' which needs to be received for us to acknowledge our calling: it's hope, it's blessings, and the sphere in which they will be enjoyed 'in Christ Jesus' (See Ephesians 1:17+).

'For this cause (Ephesians 2:19-22)
I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
Of Whom the whole family
(plural) in heaven and earth is named,
That He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory,
.. to be strengthened with might by His Spirit in the inner man;
.... That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith;
that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,
.. May be able to comprehend with all saints
.... what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height;
...... And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge,
........ that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.
Now unto Him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think,
.. according to the power that worketh in us,
.... Unto Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus
...... throughout all ages,
world without end.
........ Amen.'
(Ephesians 3:14-22)

Thank you

'For I would that ye knew what great conflict I have for you,
and for them at Laodicea, and for as many as have not seen my face in the flesh;
That their hearts might be comforted,
being knit together in love,
and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding,
to the acknowledgement of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ;
In Whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.
And this I say, lest any man should beguile you with enticing words.'

(Col 2:1-4)

Hello again, @soul man,

How essential it is for believers to be 'knit together in love', to be therefore, 'rooted and grounded in love', in the absolute assurance of the love of God in Christ Jesus for them, and have the riches of the full assurance of understanding. That they may with confidence know and acknowledge the fulness of the grace of God which they have received, and glory in it, without fear.

Also the acknowledgement of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ, 'in Whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge'. Why? Lest they should be beguiled with enticing words of man's wisdom, and led astray from the completeness of their position in Christ Jesus their risen and ascended Saviour, Lord and Head.

He, and He alone, is the Head of the Church which is His Body, which is the fulness of Him that filleth all in all (Ephesians 1:22-23).

Thank you
In Christ Jesus
Chris

What would they be led away from? Is that positsion depend on man not being led away from it? And what would they go to?

Hello @soul man,

Thank you for your response. Good questions:-

1) What would they be led away from?
* They would be led away from the completeness which is in Christ Jesus, which is described so fully in Ephesians and Colossians, which brings such peace and assurance, with the knowledge that in Christ they are indeed 'holy' and 'without blame.'

2) Does that position depend on man not being led away from it?
* It is the prize/reward that can be lost, not salvation, and not the inheritance. (Colossians 2:18; Philippians 3:14)

3) And what would they go to?
* Instead of being filled with all the fullness of God, in Christ Jesus (Ephesians 1:22-23) which is the object of the church which is Christ's body; they would simply have a mere, 'filling of the flesh' (Colossians 2:16-23).

* Instead of Christ dwelling in their hearts by faith (Ephesians 3:17), they would simply have a mock humility, will worship, a worshipping of angels and a failure to hold the Head (which is Christ): a spurious holiness, borne of the flesh, which cannot please God.

This is the best I can do at the moment, @soul man. Not very clear I'm afraid.

Thank you
In Christ Jesus

@soul man We have been studying Melchizedek lately; Hebrews 7 shows wonderfully that the continuous intercession for us of our Great High Priest Who is passed into the heavens is after the order of Melchizedek ... "for ever" ... rather than being dependent on a line of frail men.
